Verona "Toots" Hershey, 83 of North Huntingdon died July 30, 2016 at Walden View. She was born April 21, 1933 in Clairton, Pa., a daughter of the late George J. Zofchak and Anna (Hostavich) Zofchak.

 Her father died when she was four years old and her mother died when she was 6 years old. She worked for the formerr A&P super market in Clairton. She was a 1951 graduate of Clairton High School, member of the Cereal Heights Homemakers, Lutheran Church of Our Savior, North Huntingdon where she served as the head of the youth group for many years. Verona enjoyed crafts, travel, sewing and camping. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, John, George, and Albert Zofchak, Anna Geletko, Mary Minford who raised her, Josephine Hood, Elizabeth Ignaczak, Helen Powanda and Katherine Lewis. She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years,Charles W. Hershey, numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon on Tuesday 2-4,6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be  held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel followed by interment in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park. The family requests no flowers.
