Mary Jean Carroll, age 86, of White Oak, died March 20, 2021, at Canterbury Place.  Born January 5, 1935, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Frank Louis  and Helena (Parodi) Sanders and wife of the late Joseph P. Carroll.

Mary Jean was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, Corpus Christi Church, and the former St. Pius V Parish.  She retired as the parish secretary at St. Pius V Church and was a member of their adult choir for 40 years.  The parish was an essential part of her life; she was a former member and Vice President of the Christian Mothers, on the parish council, and the Centennial Anniversary Committee.  Her other memberships included Keener Citizens at St. Angela Church, National AARP Versailles Chapter 1911, Past President of the Grandview Chapter 2171, Charter Member and Past President of George Washington Elementary PTA, and Past Treasurer of the McKeesport PTA Council.  She was also an office clerk at G.C. Murphy Co. home office for five years.  Mary Jean is survived by children, Helen Louise (Richard) Zarobsky of Edgewood, New Mexico, Colleen F. Carroll of Bedford, Steven J. (Karen) Carroll of Port Vue, Robert P. (Dana Loftion) Carroll of New Castle, and William F. (Kathy) Carroll of Verona; grandchildren, Brittany Bialobok of Bedford, Kelsey Carroll of New Castle, Christopher Carroll of Port Vue, and Ryan Carroll of Las Vegas, NV; step-grandson, Mark Zarobsky; step-great-grandchildren, Tyler Zarobsky, and Arleia Zarobsky; step-great-great grandchild, Cailey Zarobsky; brother, Francis L. Sanders, and sister, Donna (Sanders) Hayat.
She was also preceded in death by her stepmother, Mary Gradischek Sanders.
Family and friends were received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at St. Angela Church at 10 a.m.
Burial followed at St. Mary German Cemetery. A Memorial Mass at Corpus Christi Church will be scheduled at a later date.
