Nicholas Zugai, age 86, of McKeesport, formerly of Elizabeth Twp., died March 11, 2021, at UPMC McKeesport Hospital. Born August 9, 1934, in East Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Cvetnic) Zugai and the husband of the late Shirley (Colvin) Zugai for 53 years.

Nicholas retired from Sears, Roebuck and Co., where he was a sales advisor in the automotive department. After retirement, Nicholas went on to drive for Access Transportation Systems. He was in the US Army Reserves during peacetime. He enjoyed sports, game shows, and American Pickers, always dreaming of finding the perfect treasures. Nicholas had a passion for listening to Croatian music and attending picnics with his beloved wife and family.

Nicholas is survived by his children, Nicholas J. (Joan) Zugai of Elizabeth Twp., Michelle R. (Mike) Rydzak of McKeesport, Suzann M. (Tim) Artman of Peters Twp., Richard D. (Carol) Wassel of St. John, USVI, Randy D. (Kathy) Wassel of Elizabeth Twp., Ron D. (Tracey) Wassel of Creighton, PA; 12 grandchildren, Cory Pietrusza, Bob Karnes, Dylan Wassel, Logan Wassel, Kayleigh Mayer, Olivia Zugai, Julie Rydzak, Faith Rydzak, Michael Rydzak, Matthew Rydzak, Sydney Artman and Cammi Artman; 7 great-grandchildren; also many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by siblings, Goldie Zaluski, MaryAnn Zuccarelli, BarbaraJean Zugai, Stephen, Charles, and John Zugai.

Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 5:30 p.m., in the funeral home chapel. Pastor Charles Owston will officiate. Inurnment in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies will be scheduled at a later date.
