Theodore “Frank” Zarichansky, 92, of North Versailles, Pa., died on February 23, 2021.

Born in Wall, PA, February 21, 1929, was proceeded in death by his loving wife, Bernadine (Stalowski-Ellenberger), parents John and Catherine (Zamiszcak) Zarichansky, four brothers (Michael, Anthony, Andrew and John), one sister (Mary Rullo), and step-son Jack L. Ellenberger.

He is survived by his brother, Nicholas (Mary) Zarichansky, his step-children Donna (Louis) Paulisick, Darryl Ellenberger, and step-son’s widow, Sharon Ellenberger. He is survived by nine grandchildren: Richard and Karen Paulisick, Kristin (Dr. Jim) Richards, Jocelyn (Jeff) Bell, Jack (Michelle) Ellenberger, Kayla (Robert) Michalak, Nathan Ellenberger, Michael Ellenberger, and Brandon Ellenberger; and 13 great-grandchildren Matthew Paulisick; Coleman and Caroline Richards; Jennings, Greyson and Charlotte Bell; Alexi, Leo and Julian Ellenberger; Mason, Rylan, Kanon, and Declan Michalak. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Esther (Joe) Deleo, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ted graduated in 1947 from Westinghouse Memorial High School in Wilmerding, PA. He was drafted into the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea and on loan to the U.S. Air Force from ’51-’53. He graduated from California State University in 1956 as an industrial arts and history teacher, and was adored to this day, as the shop teacher for Park Terrace Middle School and East Allegheny High School. Everyone regarded him as a sweet and kind man who would do whatever he could for you. He loved to travel and stay busy in the yard, and worked hard for his church from managing the finances to making pierogis. He answered to many names: Ted, Frank, Theo, Uncle Ted, Uncle Frank, Jake, Mr. Z and most lovingly Pap.

He lived a long and full life and was very loved, respected and appreciated.

Donations in memory of Theodore Zarichansky may be sent to East Allegheny Meals on Wheels or to Wounded Warriors.

Family and Friends are welcome in the Alfieri Funeral Home, Inc., 201 Marguerite Ave, Wilmerding, PA 15148, 412-824-4332, on Sunday from 4pm to 8pm. A Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 11am. Masks and social distancing are required in the funeral home.
