William J. Meneely, age 88, of Lincoln Borough, died July 19, 2016, at home. Born May 18, 1928, in Homestead, he was the son of the late William Clark and Olive (Randolph) Meneely and the husband of the late Ella M. “Elly” Meneely, for over 66 years.
Bill worked at US Steel and then Christy Park Industries, where he retired as a foreman.

He was a dedicated member of the Port Vue United Methodist Church, where he was the janitor for many years and volunteered regularly for many church activities. He had 39 years of public service with Lincoln Borough, where he was a councilman from 1972 – 1977 and tax collector from 1978 to 2011. He was also a volunteer fireman in Lincoln Borough, #1, Station 184.
Bill is survived by children, James of Argos, IN and Debra (Anthony) Mosqueda of McKeesport; grandchildren, Jerry (Kristen), Adam, Heather (Jon), Kevin (Jennifer), Matt (Angela) and Brian; great grandchildren, Triniti, Braden, Koleman, K.C., Kaitlin, Morgan and Ella Grace; also nieces and nephews.
In addition to Bill’s, parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brothers Frank and Merle.
Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, July 22, 2016, from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. Services will be held Saturday, July 23, 2016, 10 a.m., at the Port Vue United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.
