Marion Eugene “Gene” Miller, age 94, of Dravosburg, died July 13, 2016, at UPMC McKeesport. Born December 13, 1921, in Mt. Vernon, he was the son of the late Henry and Loretta (Leonard) Miller and the husband of Mary (Peresh) Miller, for over 44 loving years.
Gene retired from US Steel Duquesne Works, where he was a heavy equipment operator, until he was promoted to dispatcher.
He was a member of the Duquesne Moose, McKeesport AMVETS and the Polish Club in Braddock. Gene loved to dance with his dearest Mary by his side and they won many awards and contests throughout the years. He had a way about telling jokes and could entertain for hours. He also enjoyed Pittsburgh sports, crossword puzzles and especially the PA Lottery.
In addition to his wife, Gene is survived by children, Duane Paul (Diane) Luciow of Plantation, FL, Richard (Karen) Luciow of West Mifflin and Sandy (Jim) Solomon of McKeesport; grandchildren, Bobby (Colleen) Hapchuck, Jr., Becky (Eric) Patrick, Pamela (George) Bianchi, Jason (Amy) Luciow, Lori (Mike) Giles and Heidi (Orlando) Martir; great grandchildren, Keith, Cy, Michael, Brandon, Georgie, Isiah, Blake, Bradley and Thomas.
He was also preceded in death by siblings Irene, Bill, Ernie and Elmer.
Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, July 16, 2016, from 2 until the time of service at 4 p.m., with Fr. Matthew Elanjileth officiating. Inurnment will be in McKeesport & Versailles Cemetery on Monday, July 18, 2016, at 2 p.m.
