William C. Ressler, age 83, of North Huntingdon, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at home.

He was born September 12, 1932 in Jeannette, PA, a son of the late Franklin and Mary Jane Bickerstaff Ressler.  Prior to his retirement, William was formerly employed by Westinghouse Airbrake and later was a mail carrier for the US Postal Service with 25 years of service.  He enlisted into the US Air Force on February 4, 1953 and served four years of active duty during the Korean War, and served four years in the reserves.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Irwin, held the position of Sergeant of Arms, American Legion, Hahntown, an active member of ARC, a graduate of Jeannette High School, Class of 1951, and attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh from 1957 to 1959.  William took good care of his family and they were his life.  He was a devoted husband and father and enjoyed spending time with his family especially at holiday gatherings. He enjoyed socializing with the ARC Bowling Group and the Giant Eagle Coffee Shop Group.  Bill always liked talking about his life, and attended a writing class with his daughter.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Jennie Springer Ressler; grandson Jeremy M. Radziwon; brother Franklin; and sisters, Anne Natale, Charlotte Joseph and Mary Melago.   He is survived by his daughters,  Valerie Sue Miller, and Vickie M. Radziwon and her husband, Anthony L. Radziwon II; son, William Arthur Ressler; grandson, Anthony L. Radziwon III and his fiancee, April; granddaughter, Brittany Miller; and great-grandchildren Anthony L. Radziwon IV, Aubrea and Alexis Radziwon; sister, June Bertani and her husband, Norman; and numerous nieces and nephews.   Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon.  A funeral service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.  Interment in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ARC in memory of William.   www.shirleyfuneralhome.com.
