Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | June 25, 2016

Dorothy Ann Aranos Scott Ursiny, entered eternal life on June 13, 2016. Dorothy was born in Allegheny County on March 12, 1927 to parents John and Wanda Aranos.

Dorothy was a World War II bride to Clyde Scott. Together they raised two daughters, Carole and Janet. Later in life she married John Ursiny (deceased), and was embraced by his family. For years they enjoyed the fresh Coulter air and supporting Park Baptist Church. Dorothy loved to cook, bake her signature pastries and garden. She was never without a dog to love. She had a passion for hummingbirds. Could it be that her sparkling blue eyes and gentle smile attracted the tiny creatures to her window? In her golden years, "Dotty" resided in nursing homes near her eldest daughter Carole, first in Nevada, then on to Texas. During this time her joys included bingo, movies, art class, pet therapy days, visits from Elvis impersonators, Baby Timmy and her lifelong affair with chocolate. Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, while friend to many. She is survived by loving members and generations of the Ursiny, Whiteside, Queen, Scott, Aranos and Zablocki families. Memories of Dorothy will always be our treasure. Arrangements made by James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA. www.shirleyfuneralhome.com
