John Hanasewych, 70, of McCandless, died Monday, June 22, 2020.  He was born April 16, 1950 in Muhldorf, Germany and was the son of the late Iwan and Maria (Petruniak) Hanasewych.   John worked in construction before returning to school and completing a degree in mechanical/electrical technology.  He worked as a wireman at Curtiss Wright before retirement.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his adoring wife of 40 years, Marybeth (Trapani) Hanasewych and loving son, Patrick Hanasewych, sister, Anna Georgousis, sister-in-law, Jeanie Hanasewych, nieces and nephews, Stacey (Michael) McDonald, Anna Marie (Saki) Zorba, Penelope, Eva Zorba, Lauren, Sarah and Adam Hanasewych, Matt and Meghan Harper, Kelly Trapani, Katie McKelvey and Nick, Samantha and Tim Goman, sisters-in-law, Michelle (Michael) Harper and Maria (Bill) Goman, and brother-in-law, Michael (Nancy) Trapani.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Theodore Hanasewych.

There is no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial and celebration of life will be held on August 14, 2020 at 1:00 pm at St. Teresa of Avilla Church, 1000 Avila Ct, Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
