Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | January 23, 2020

Mary Ann (Gush) Marko, age 87, of Henderson, NV, formerly of McKeesport, PA, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 14, 2020, at home. Born May 25, 1932, in Monessen, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Murin) Gush and wife of the late John Marko for over 52 years.

Mary Ann was a loving mother, homemaker, remarkable cook, and an even better baker. She enjoyed preparing meals and treats for her family and friends, especially over the holidays. She cared deeply for her family and was always the first to offer help. Throughout her blessed life, she remained a devoted Catholic; she was a life long member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church and recently St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. She loved to spend her time talking with loved ones, playing Bingo, and dancing. In her later years, when her mind had failed her, it was music that still moved her. Her infectious laugh and radiant smile will be missed by all. Her daughter Michele and son-in-law Steven lovingly cared for her in the last 12 years of her life. Her family gives their greatest gratitude and are comforted in knowing that Mary Ann finally knows who she is again.
Mary Ann is survived by her children, Robert (Vicki) of McKeesport, PA, John (Deborah) of Charleston, SC, Michele (Steven) Felix of Henderson, NV, Mary (John) Mannarino of Boston, PA, Andrew of McKeesport, and Michael (Amy) of McKeesport, PA; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Ann was also preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Murga.
