Jimmy Bruce, age 89, of Port Vue, PA, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2019.  Born October 6, 1930, in McKeesport, PA, he was the son of the late James A. Bruce and Pearl (Smith) Bruce.

He was preceded in death by his son, James M. Bruce, and brother, Thomas Lynn.
He is survived by his daughter, Lori (Michael) Pozzuto of Tarpon Springs, FL.; grandchildren Keith M. Boyce, Jr. of Lincoln Boro, PA. and Jeanna L. Pozzuto of Clearwater, FL.; great-grandson Dakota Boyce of Springdale, PA.; siblings, Darlene (Frank) Spinelli of North Versailles, PA. and Irvin (Georgene) Bruce of North Carolina; as well as nieces, nephews, and beloved cats Baby (Squeaks), Charlie, and Angel.
James was retired from U. S. Steel (National Tube) as a millwright, an escort at Jefferson Hospital, and recently retired earlier this year as a crossing guard for the Boro of Port Vue. Jimmy was an amateur boxer in the late ’40s, winning 34 of 40 fights without any formal training. He was a handball champion in the early ’70s at the McKeesport YMCA, and he was also the oldest competitor winning first place in the grandmaster bench press (deadlift) from 2009 to 2013 bench pressing 205 lbs. At the age of 82, which he was very proud of, lastly, he was the WII bowling champion at LifeSpan.  He was a good man with a big heart and liked to make people laugh.  He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.  
There will be no service or visitation at Jim’s request.
