Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | August 06, 2018

Tony Dolansky, 63, of Forward Twp., died peacefully at his home August 4, 2018. He was born February 23, 1955, the son of the late Anthony and Eleanor Dolansky.

He was employed in maintenance at Youghiogheny Country Club where he enjoyed his work and co-workers. Tony loved his family and enjoyed spending time at their family camp. Other pleasures included playing the slots at the local casinos – Meadows, Wheeling and Seneca – and listening to polka music by Jack Tady. He was an avid Harley Davidson rider and owner. He and his brother Kenny enjoyed riding through the countryside on their Harleys. He also loved dirt car racing and was a race car driver at Motordrome Speedway in Smithton from 1975-1991. Tony became car owner when his brother Kenny took over the wheel. He liked all sports and on the top of his list was NASCAR. His fondest memories were his trips to Florida and Sturgis to attend Bike Week. Tony courageously fought his three-month battle with cancer and he never gave up and never complained. He is survived by his brother, Kenny Dolansky of Elizabeth with whom he made his home; Aunt Sophie Dora of Smithton; and Aunt Helen Ruhl (John) of West Mifflin. A special thanks to Dr. Brian Thomas and staff at Jefferson Hospital Cancer Center and Allegheny Health Network Hospice for their special care. Honoring Tony’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. Tony will be deeply missed by all those who knew, loved, and respected him. Arrangements by the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth.
