Richard Kruszyna, age 94, of North Huntingdon, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at his home.  He was born May 25, 1924 in McKeesport, Pa., a son of the late Ignatius and Frances (Antczak) Kruszyna.

 Richard was honorably discharged from the US Army where he served as a Staff Sergeant in the South Pacific.  He was employed as a rigger at the Christy Park Works of US Steel where he retired after more than 40 years of service.  He was a member of St. Agnes Church where he served as an usher at the 4:30 p.m. Mass on Saturdays, was a member of the Men's Club and belonged to the Norwin Seniors Bowling League.  He was a faithful volunteer at the Food Bank for many years.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph and Robert Kruszyna; and his sister, Helen Dunn.  He is survived by his loving wife, Harriet Kruzynski Kruszyna; children, Linda K. Simmeth and her husband, Michael, Richard M. Kruszyna and his wife, Patricia; grandsons, Richard and Michael Kruszyna; and nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Agnes Church.  Entombment to follow in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.  The family would like to thank the Excela Hospice staff, especially Chrissy, Becky and Kristen for their loving care and support.  www.shirleyfuneralhome.com.
