Merton Hersh, age 92, of McKeesport, died May 24, 2018. He was born in McKeesport on May 30, 1925 and is the son of the late Harry Hersh and the late Irene Einzig Hersh Stein. He was a WW II Army veteran with the 79th Division, 313th Infantry Regiment. He was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon with four Bronze Stars, the American Theater Campaign Ribbon, the Combat Infantry Badge, the WW II Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of Temple B’Nai Israel, the Allied War Veterans and a life member of the Jewish War Veterans and the Disabled American Veterans.  Merton graduated from the University of Pgh. in 1950 with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and then in 1952 from the University of Pgh. School of Business Administration with a Masters in Merchandising and Advertising. He is survived by many cousins and friends.

 

Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177) on Sunday, May 27, 2018 beginning at 1:00 p.m. Services with Rabbi Paul Tuchman officiating will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Temple Cemetery along with Full Military Honors.
