Luigi Como, age 95, of Christy Park, died April 10, 2018, at Senior Care Plaza. Born June 17, 1922, in Palena, Italy, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Assunta (Testa) Como and the husband of the late Ida (Toppi) Como for over 60 years.

Luigi was retired from Tube City Iron & Metal Co. He was a member of St. Patrick Church and the Palenese League of America. He enjoyed gardening, making homemade wine and sharing his families Italian traditions. Luigi is survived by his children, Assunta Tyskiewicz of McKeesport, Attorney Joseph P. Como and Janet Toner of McKeesport, Antonietta (Walt) Wdowiak of Mars, PA and Pete A. Como of McKeesport; grandchildren, Jennifer (Bob) Scherrer, Joe Tyskiewicz, Susan (Doug) Trabandt, Sean Wdowiak, Rachel (Nathan) Herring, Nathan Wdowiak and Jeremy Wdowiak; great grandchildren, Olivia, Max, Stella, Grace, Lewis, Molly and Maebel; sister, Lena Caione of McKeesport; also nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Luigi was preceded in death by his siblings, Anthony Como, Gaetanella Trozzi and Mary DiMartino. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, April 13, 2018, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 14, 2018, 10 a.m., at St. Patrick Church. Fr. Steven M. Palsa will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in New St. Joseph's Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Aseracare Hospice, 300 Penn Center Blvd., #602, Pittsburgh, PA or Carnegie Library of McKeespoprt, 1507 Library Ave., McKeesport, PA 15132. Luigi's family would like to  extend a heartfelt, "Thank you," to the staff of Senior Care Plaza and Aseracare Hospice, for the care and compassion they provided through this difficult time.
