Michael J. Deak, age 84, of White Oak, died March 3, 2018, at UPMC East of Monroeville. Born March 4, 1934, in Rankin, PA, he was the son of the late Michael and Sadie (Smecker) Deak and the husband of Kathy (Marciniec) Deak.

Michael was retired from US Steel, Edgar Thompson Works, where he was a crane operator with 48 years of service. He was a member of the White oak American Legion, Post # 701, Italian Miners Society, Sportsman's Club in Lionsville, Eagles club in Andover, OH Slovak Club in Braddock, VFW in East Pittsburgh and the North Huntingdon Volunteer Fire Department in Larimer. He enjoyed fishing, Pittsburgh sports, golfing, dancing, gambling and gardening. In addition to his wife Kathy, Michael is survived by his children, Michael (Maryann) Deak of North Huntingdon, Ronald (Robyn) Deak of Rillton and Connie Deak of Greensburg; grandchildren, Michael (Kimberly) Deak, Geneia (Calvin) Gates, Nichole Deak, Carly Deak, Haylee Deak, Kaylee Aaron, HunterAaron, Glenn (Tawnya) Pirl, Rachel (Dan) Blasco and Jesse Pirl; 14 great grandchildren; also nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Deak. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at 10:45 a.m., in the funeral home chapel, with Fr. Matthew Elanjileth officiating.
