Helen B. Shaw, age 96, of McKeesport, formerly of Dravosburg, died March 2, 2018, at UPMC McKeesport.

Helen B. Shaw, age 96, of McKeesport, formerly of Dravosburg, died March 2, 2018, at UPMC McKeesport. Born October 24, 1921, in Perryopolis, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Kasich) Maha and wife of the late Robert L. Shaw for 45 years. Helen dedicated her life to caring for her family. In her early years she worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Goldstein. She was the co-owner and bookkeeper of the family business, which was the Atlantic Service Station, in West Mifflin. She was a member of St. Michael's Orthodox Church, in McKeesport. Helen was a proud member of the Dravosburg Woman's Club. She enjoyed Pittsburgh sports and will always be remembered making the best homemade fudge. She is survived by her grandchildren, Matthew (Noel) Shaw of Canonsburg, Beckie Shaw of Warren, OH and Jeremy Shaw of Charlottesville, VA; great grandson, Mason Gordon Shaw; sister, Julia Maha Rusin of McKeesport; god-daughter, Sandra (Melchior) Masina of Hobart, IN; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by her son, Gordon Shaw; siblings, Mary Gobbels, Anna Becker, John, Peter and Michael Maha. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., with the Panachida service at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be Thursday, March 8, 2018, 10 a.m., at St. Michael's Orthodox Church. Fr. George R. Patrick will officiate. Burial will follow in Richland Cemetery, of Dravosburg.
