Viola M. "Bubba" Uchnar, age 74, of McKeesport, died February 13, 2018, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born March 6, 1943, in Homestead, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Johanna (Carey) Cypher and the wife of Donald F. Uchnar.

 Viola dedicated her life to caring for her family. She also worked with her son at his jewelry store, Esken Jewelry, in Pleasant Hills, prior to that she worked at Double G Car Wash, in McKeesport, where she met her best friend and husband Donald. She will be remembered as “Bubba,” to all that knew her. Viola’s compassionate heart gave strength and hope to anyone that came in contact with her, especially the folks that she met during her cancer treatments. She truly enjoyed family gatherings, Sunday meals and parties at home on their backyard deck. In addition to her husband, Viola is survived by her children, Tim (Antoinette Young) Esken of Baldwin, David (Jill) Esken of Finleyville, Donald Esken of Finleyville, Kathleen (Chris) Martino of Jefferson Hills, Geno (Mechelle) Esken of McKeesport; step-daughter, Madaline (Tom Henaghan) Blyth of Monroeville; grandchildren, Laura (Al) Tarant, Mitchell, Elizabeth and Dominic Martino, Sullivan, Ava Esken, Frank (Alicia) and Sean (Breianna) Henaghan; great grandchildren, Zoey, McKenzie, Kinsley and Keaghan; many beloved friends and extended family; and her loyal pup, “Sadie.” Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, February 16, 2018, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 until the time of service at 8 p.m., in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dr. Diane Hobson officiating. Inurnment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at a later date.
