James A. Howell, age 82, of McKeesport, died January 14, 2018, at Family Hospice and Palliative Care.

James A. Howell, age 82, of McKeesport, died January 14, 2018, at Family Hospice and Palliative Care. Born August 12, 1935, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Clarence and Mae (Scally) Howell and the husband of Candace (Gibbons) Howell. James was retired from McKeesport Hospital, where he was a security guard. Prior to that he worked for the former Thorofare Markets, where he was a produce manager, with over 31 years of service. He also worked as a automobile delivery driver at Bob Massie Toyota for many years. He was a former member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in North Versailles. He was also a member of the Duqusene McKeesport Lodge # 731 F&AM.
 James was an avid hunter, fisherman, bowler and Pittsburgh Sports fan. In addition to his wife, James is survived by his son, James E. (Frankie) Howell of Severn, MD; sister, Shirley Hanna of McKeesport; brother, Emanuel "Bud" (Patricia) Howell of Marienville, PA.  grandchildren, Jennifer Paez of Pasadena, MD, Jessica (Steven) Crawford of Gambrills, MD, Jaclyn (James "Bud") Gass of Annapolis, MD, Dominic (Lindsay) Perri of North Versailles, Taylor Perri of East McKeesport and Jordan Perri of Pasadena, MD; great grandchildren, Haley, Kayla, Dominic, Jr., Isabella, Vivian, Isla, Adalyn and Everly. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammi Perri; brothers, Robert and Thomas Howell; brother-in-law, Thomas Hanna. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, from 1 to 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018, 11 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Richard W. Krug will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
