Joseph P. Stewart Sr., 76, of Adamsburg, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital.

He was born January 22, 1941 in Larimer.  Son of the late James and Margaret Brown Stewart.  He was a lifetime member of the Adamsburg Fire Dept.  Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Exton Ornamental Iron Works, Irwin.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, John W. Sr., Dennis, James and Robert; sister-in-law, Velma Stewart; and  brother-in-law, William A. Mohlman.  Joseph is survived by his wife, Darlene of Adamsburg; son, Joseph P. Stewart Jr. and his wife, Iris of North Huntingdon; daughter, Deborah Lubatti and her husband, William of North Huntingdon, Cheryl Banko of E. Pittsburgh; grandsons, Jeffrey Banko and his wife, Sulita, Todd Drye and his wife, Sherri, Bruce Nguyen and Amanda; granddaughter, LeeAnn Nguyen; great-grandsons, Ethan, Ryker, Jaelee Cameron, Tyler, Aidan Paul, Oscar, Xavier and Anthony; great-granddaughters, Orin Riley and Alessa ; sister, Mary M. Stewart of Irwin; sister-in-law, Thelma Stewart of N. Irwin; and niece and nephews.  Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon on Sunday from 2-6 p.m.  A funeral service will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Robert Fagin officiating.  Interment will follow in Brush Creek Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Dept. and Rescue 14 EMS, Adamsburg, PA.
