John M. Slavick, age 66, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at home. He was a former bus driver for DMJ in Mt. Pleasant. A Marine veteran serving during the Vietnam War, he was a former member of St. Michael Parish in Elizabeth Twp. and a lifetime member of West Newton Sportsman's Club. He enjoyed spending the summer at his camp in Potter County and sitting under the pavilion by the fire with an ice cold Coors Light. He loved his dog Max and hunting. 

Born May 25, 1951 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Paul M. and Stephanna (Anjeski) Slavick. He is survived by his loving companion of 18 years, Carol DeNoble; sisters, Stella Smith of Forward Twp., JoAnn (Elliott) Weiss of Jefferson Hills, and Patricia Wedel of Pleasant Hills; brothers, Paul (Virginia) Slavick of West Elizabeth, Joseph (Ronalee) Slavick of Elizabeth Twp., George (Judy) Slavick of Elizabeth Twp., and Michael Slavick of Belle Vernon; also, cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Catherine Soukovich, Phyllis Martin, Margaret Roberts, and Marion McKernan. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 North Second Avenue, Elizabeth on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 from 5-7 PM.
