Earl H. Bernath, age 71 of Glassport, formerly of West Mifflin, died September 1, 2017 at AHN Jefferson Hospital. Born November 8, 1945 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Earl H. and Zella I. (Paxon) Bernath, and loving husband of Elby (Orbin) Bernath for 50 years. Earl worked for US Steel National Tube Works for many years where he ran the overhead cranes and also worked in the rolling pits. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and especially loved spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Linda Bernath of Glassport, Tina Bernath of Glassport, and Earl (Cary) Bernath of Port Vue; grandchildren, Timmy Tatters of Glassport, Destiny (Zach) Tatters of Elizabeth, and Bailee Bernath of Port Vue; great-grandchildren, Gabbie Bryne and Joseph Delancey; siblings, Linda Savage of McKeesport, Jeannie Garish of Irwin, Beverly Birr of McKeesport, Kathy Luera of White Oak, Clarence Moffitt of Meadville, and Charles Bernath of McKeesport; also many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Donna Ehrhardt, Edna Oatman, and James Moffitt. Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the family.
