John Novobilsky, age 67 of Liberty Borough, formerly of Monessen, died August 22, 2017 at UPMC Presbyterian.

Born December 24, 1949 in New Eagle, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Graca) Novobilsky. John honorably served in the US Navy as an electronics technician during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he worked for US Steel Tube Works in McKeesport, Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel in Monessen, and was retired from the United States Postal Service General Mail Facility as an electronics technician. He was also a Past Master F&AM with Masonic Lodge #526. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, biking, sporting clays, walking, and most importantly, spending time with his family. He is survived by his children, Kimberly Novobilsky of Strongsville, OH and Brian Novobilsky of Liberty Borough; grandchildren, Kaleena and Ryan; brother, Frank (Donna) Novobilsky of Perryopolis; nieces and nephews, Scott (Paula), Frank (Theresa), Todd (Laura), Tiffany (Mark) Frolo, Kristen (Brian) Walters, Sandy and Kristina Trubich; great-nieces and nephews, Caitlyn, Abby, Cameron, Joshua, Mary Beth, James, Shauna, Michelle, Kara, Kevin and Audrey; sister-in-law, Linda Novobilsky of Monessen; brother-in-law, Chris Trubich of White Oak; and former wife, Eileen. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Janice Marie Novobilsky; and brother, Michael J. Novobilsky. Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 6-9 p.m. and Friday, August 25, 2017 from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at Noon in the funeral home chapel.
