Mercedes H. Boyer, age 97, of West Mifflin, died July 12, 2017, at Redstone Highlands in Greensburg.  Born June 13th, 1920, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Agnes (Coyle) Dunlay and the wife of the late J. Edward Boyer. Mercedes (Gram) was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was very independent, feisty, and loved to drive. She always stayed in shape and did water aerobics and swimming into her 90's. She was a very good friend to all that she met no matter their age and enjoyed a good lunch, dinner, or party with friends, nieces, and nephews. She will be missed by all who met her. Mercedes is survived by sons, Charles R. (Diane) of Greensburg and Raymond E. (Annette) of Fox Chapel; grandchildren,  Paul and Benjamin (Elizabeth) Zechinati, Devin, Andrew, and Cody Boyer; great-granddaughter, Clara Elizabeth Zechinati .  She was preceded in death by daughter, Marcy Zechinati; brothers, Raymond, Frances, Regis, Edward, Vincent, and William; sisters, Agnes, Catherine, Mabel, Virginia, Donna Marie; many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received Sunday, July 16, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Kevin Dominik on Monday, July 17, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., at St. Angela Merici Church.  Interment will follow at New St. Joseph Cemetery.  Memories may be shared at www.jaycox-jaworskifh.com.
