Francis M. Zovko, Sr., age 87 of Clairton, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 in Jefferson Hospital.  Born October 21, 1929 in Clairton, he was a son of the late Joseph M. and Julia (Ciker) Zovko.  

Francis was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish and the American Legion, Post 75 Daniel Keffer, both in Clairton.  He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army and The Korean War where he served in the U.S. Marine Corp.  Francis was a retired Accountant Coordinator with U.S. Steel's Irvin Works, West Mifflin.  He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Lenore R. (Brennan) Zovko and his son Patrick James "P.J." Zovko.  He is survived by his children Lenore A. (Daniel) Sutton of Freedom, Francis (Jayme) Zovko, II of Jefferson Hills, and Linda Villafuerte of Perryopolis; grandchildren Daniel (Heidi), Jeffery, and Matthew (Darcie) Sutton, Rachel (Jared) Kreider, and Lauren (James) Matyasovsky; great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Colin, Ellie, Merrick and Miles. Besides his wife and son, Francis was also preceded in death by siblings Joe and Julia Zovko, Anne Zubovich, and Marge Labrosse.  Friends will be received in the A. J. Bekavac Funeral Home, 555 5th. St., Clairton, PA 15025 (412-233-5700) on Friday, July 14, 2017 from 4 PM until 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 10 AM in St. Clare of Assisi Parish, Clariton.  Interment will be private at the request of the family.  www.bekavacfuneralhome.com
