Kornel F. Sopko, age 88 of North Huntingdon died May 10, 2017 at Forbes Regional Hospital. He was born September 28, 1928 in Duquesne, Pa., a son of the late Frank and Elizabeth Orris Sopko.
Kornel was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a purchasing agent for various engineering firms. He enjoyed photography, golfing, jazz music , he was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his beloved wife Dorothy Sobeck Sopko, one son Kornel M. (Pauline), two daughters, Judith Sopko Elliot (Douglas), Patricia Reno (Ron), one brother Arnold Sopko (Gerri), five grandchildren, Corbin , Shea, Devon, Ashton and Paige Marie. Arrangements were handled by the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, North Huntingdon, Pa., 15642.
