Margaret Opalenik, age 90 of Elizabeth Twp., passed away peacefully Friday, April 14, 2017 in the Center for Compassionate Care, Mt. Lebanon.  Born July 31, 1926 in Duquesne, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Martha (Kotrody) Petrisko.

A member of Ascension of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church in Clairton, Margaret was a champion bowler, who enjoyed her "mall walks," going shopping, eating out, working on puzzles, spending time with family, dancing, and music.  Known for her sense of humor, she also volunteered at both Jefferson Hospital and the McKeesport Women's Shelter.  She joins her husband, the late Paul Opalenik, and her siblings Martha Petrisko, Mary Babic, Michael, John, and George Petrisko, Ann Mrvos, Peter Petrisko, and Martha Repper.  Margaret is survived by her daughters Yvonne Opalenik of Mt. Lebanon and Cheryl (David Mark) Funk of Cranberry; her grandchildren Justin, Zachary, and Addison; and also nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received at a Memorial Gathering on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 N. 2nd. Ave., Elizabeth, PA 15037 (412-384-4344) from 3 PM until a 5 PM Memorial Service, in the funeral home, with Fr.
