James Edward Winters, 89, of Christy Park, formerly of Elizabeth Township, died Monday April 3, 2017 at home. He was born December 11, 1927 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Maximilian and Evelyn Riley Winters. He was the husband of the late Mary Elizabeth "Muncie" Fodor Winters who died April 18, 2011. James was a member of St. Patrick Parish in Christy Park, and the Men's Guild and Holy Name Society there. He was also a member of the IBEW Local 5 and the White Oak American Legion.

He was a retired Electrician and was a US Navy Veteran of WWII. He is survived by daughters, Kim E. (Lowell) Wright of McKeesport, Debra A. (Ulysses) Winters-Ward of Longwood, FL, Maribeth G. McCorkle of Liberty Borough, and Pamela M. (Ronald) Lust of Port Vue, son, Girard J. (finance, Michele Sethman) of White Oak, sisters, Virginia Winters of Monroeville and Evelyn Lickley of Port Vue, 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his companion, Dorothy "Sunny" Popp. He was preceded in death by sons, David G., James E., and Mark G. Winters, and a daughter, Lisa M. Sanchez. There is no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 am in St. Patrick Parish with The Rev. Vincent P. Velas, officiating. Inurnment with Military Honors will follow at the Mount Vernon Cemetery Garden Mausoleum in Elizabeth Township.
