Walter John Chuckro, 89, of North Huntingdon, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017 in Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville.

He was born August 5, 1927 in Braddock, PA, a son of the late John and Catherine Komanski Chuckro.  Prior to his retirement, Walter was a dairy supervisor for the A& P in Braddock with 30 years of service and later worked for Manor Westinghouse for 10 years.  He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Braddock, a veteran of the US Army having served in WWII and enjoyed woodworking and carpentry.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his six siblings.  He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Mary Matesic Chuckro; four daughters, Regina Mark and her husband, Forrest, Donna Miedlar and her husband, Michael, Catherine Borgony and her husband, David, Mary Kay Ritz and her husband, Dennis; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.  Friends will be received on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA.  A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday at 10 a.m. in Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Braddock, PA.  Interment in Braddock Catholic Cemetery, Braddock, PA.  www.shirleyfuneralhome.com.
