Joseph Henry Hubauer, age 80, of Forward Twp., passed away Thursday, November 6, 2025 in Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. He graduated from Clarion Limestone High School in 1963 and embarked on a 42 year career as a bricklayer and bricklayer foreman with Arnold Lee Masonary and Harris Masonry. A former member of First Presbyterian Church of Elizabeth, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, building a camp in Clarion, family vacations, hunting, bike riding, gardening, and spending time with his dogs. He demonstrated the value of hard work, was loving, had a sense of humor, and mentored family and friends. Born June 27, 1945 in Clarion, he was a son of the late Joseph E. and Jessie (Swarm) Hubauer. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bonnie (Montgomery) Hubauer; children, Jeffrey S. (Kimberlee) Hubauer of Thousand Oaks, CA and Denise (Kenneth) Lerro of West Mifflin; grandchildren, Thomas Hubauer of Norwich, CT, Robert Hubauer of Thousand Oaks, CA, Katelyn Hubauer of New London, CT, Joseph Huntoon of West Mifflin and Jason Huntoon of West Mifflin; sisters, Bernadette Milliron of Fairmont, Carolyn Silvis of Summerville and Mary (Don) Minich of Sligo; brothers, Frederick Hubauer of Brookville and Jack (Bonnie) Hubauer of Strattanville; his four-legged sidekick, Saddie; also, numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jerry E. Hubauer. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 North Second Avenue, Elizabeth on Sunday, November 9, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be in the funeral home chapel Monday, November 10, 2025 at 12 Noon with the Rev. Benjamin Schneider officiating. Burial will be in Churchville Cemetery in Curllsville.
