Alfred Janicki, age 96, of Blaine Hill, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at home. A corporal in the Army during the Korean War, he retired after 45 years from the maintenance department at U.S. Steel Clairton Works. He was baptized and married in St. Mary Russian Orthodox Church in McKeesport. He was a member of the 1946 Blaine Hill Boys Club baseball team and played softball in his younger years for many area leagues. He was a lifetime member of the Blaine Hill Volunteer Fire Department and was a fireman when he was younger. He was an avid golfer, loved the Steelers and Pirates and enjoyed gardening. Born September 2, 1929 in Elizabeth Twp., he was a son of the late Peter and Theresa (Nazaryk) Janicki and husband of the late Clara Mae (Hobaugh) Janicki. He is survived by his children, Daryl (Cathy) Janicki of Lake Fredrick, VA, Debra J. Bender of Delmont, Mark (Susan) Janicki of Lockhart, TX and Lisa Janicki of Blaine Hill; grandchildren, Eric Janicki, Jason Janicki, Nadia (Tim) Speney, Miranda (Sean) Floor, Chad (Stephanie) Bender, Rebecca (Jesse) Janicki, David Janicki and Michelle Breaux; sixteen great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; his cat, Graycie; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Ann Duffy, Olga Cole, John, Stephen, Anthony, Daniel, Samuel and Paul. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 North Second Avenue, Elizabeth, Thursday from 4-8 PM. A funeral service will be in the funeral home chapel Friday, October 31, 2025 at 10 AM with the Rev.
