Charles “Chuck” William Amore, age 77, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 23, 2025. Born in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, to Elviro and Yolanda (Campea) Amore, Chuck was the youngest of ten children. He was preceded in death by his parents and all his siblings. Chuck is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Deborah (Scales) Amore; his children, Ashley (Chris) Vollmer and Jace Amore; his cherished grandchildren, Jack and Blake; his faithful dog, Oliver, and numerous family members. Known affectionately to his friends and neighbors as “Dante,” Chuck was a proud alumnus of West Virginia University and dedicated 35 years to teaching physical education at Elizabeth Forward High School. He shared his passion for pickleball and badminton with countless students, and his signature catchphrases, “Dot your eye!” and “Get on the bus!”, remain legendary at EF. Chuck had a lifelong love of football. He played, coached, and cheered enthusiastically for his favorite teams, Pitt, Michigan, and WVU, every weekend. During the summers, he could be found cooking at Dante’s Dog House, a hot dog cart business he founded and ran with pride. He also loved to travel, especially to the beach, Williamsburg, and throughout Europe, where he enjoyed exploring new places and making memories with his family. A man of deep faith, Chuck was a longtime member of both Round Hill Presbyterian Church and Venice Presbyterian Church. He treasured time spent with his family, his grandchildren, and his many friends. Family and friends will be received for visitation in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth, on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 3 PM until the hour of service at 6 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Patrick Keeley officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Chuck’s memory to Venice Presbyterian Church, Washington City Mission, or the Washington Area Humane Society. Chuck will be remembered for his devotion to his family and friends and the impact he made throughout his years as a teacher, coach, and friend. Offer condolences at www.bekavacfuneralhome.com
