Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | July 31, 2025

Elaine Sandra Jones, age 87, of Dravosburg, died at home on July 29. 2025. Born March 4, 1938, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Ida Rose (Seiavitch) Stanley, and wife of the late Richard T. Jones, Jr.

Elaine began her career as a cashier at Dolly Madison, where she not only honed her skills in customer service but also met her cherished husband. They shared a beautiful life together, and she later flourished in her role as a Manager with the Dravosburg Housing Authority, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues and residents alike. A devoted member of the Dravosburg United Methodist Church, Elaine volunteered her time at the church's food bank, exemplifying her unwavering commitment to helping those in need. Her dedication to community service was matched only by her zest for life; she found great joy in playing bingo and taking memorable bus trips to the casinos, where she could share laughs and fond experiences with friends and family. Every summer, Elaine cherished the moments spent at her condo in Cocoa Beach, Florida, alongside her husband, where the sun, sand, and sea provided the perfect backdrop for memories.

She is survived by children, Diane (Lefty Tressler) Thomas, Debra (Robert) Schulter, Daryl (Patty) Jones, and Keith (Maureen) Jones; grandchildren, Dan Barbarino, Jason (Tara) Saunders, Layce (Brit) Hutchins, and other grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, Alfred Saunders.

Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, August 4, 2025, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
