Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | June 18, 2025

Brandon J. Arnold, 43, of North Versailles, formerly of Dravosburg, died on June 15, 2025, at his home. Born March 18, 1982, in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph Arnold Jr. and the living Debra Scott. Brandon's warm spirit and infectious smile brightened the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.

Brandon had a heart of gold, a deep connection with his family, and a passion for animals. He once rescued a turtle, showcasing his compassion and tenderness for all living things. His dog, Dezi, was also a beloved companion during Brandon's life, often near his side. An enthusiastic sports fan, Brandon found joy in football and the excitement of UFC fights. He possessed a philosophical nature, enriching discussions with his strong opinions and unique perspectives. Brandon's mother, Debra, fondly remembers how he could light up a room with his powder blue eyes and charming smile, making it impossible for her to be mad at him as a child, even when he was in trouble.  Brandon was not just a brother to Christa, he was also her closest friend, and the memories they share will be forever cherished. She will miss their lengthy phone calls, texts and times spent at his nephew's football games. Their bond was a source of great strength and joy for the both of them. Brandon was one of the coolest uncles ever to be known from the way he dressed to his taste in music. His nieces and nephew will never forget the times they shared with him. He was as equally proud of their achievements in education, sports, career and being what he always called "such great kids". More than anything, he will be remembered for the deep love he had for his family and friends.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his sister, Christa L. (Kenyatta Burrus) Arnold of Virginia; brothers, Raymond Young and James Young, both of Virginia; grandma, Gladys Abels of Dravosburg; nieces, Samantha (George) Jacobs of Virginia, and Nachea Burrus of North Carolina; nephew, Cameron Burrus of Virginia; longtime friends, Monica Larotonda, Arianna Larotonda, Ivy Larotonda, and John Ross; along with aunts, uncles, and many cousins.

In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his step-father, Donald Scott; grandfathers, Ronald Abels, and Joseph M. Arnold Sr.; grandmother Florence Arnold; aunt Kathy Abels; and uncle, Randy Abels.

Brandon's life, though too short, was filled with love, laughter, and meaningful connections. He will be remembered for the warmth he brought to the lives of his loved ones.

Arrangements were entrusted to Willig Funeral Home & Crematory. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.willigfuneralcremationservices.com. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
