John J. Lubinski, 89, beloved husband, father and grandfather, of Harrison City, formerly of North Huntingdon and Uniontown, died peacefully Friday, April 5, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born September 20, 1934, in Westmoreland City, a son of the late John and Elizabeth (Gubanich) Lubinski. Before moving to Uniontown, John was a member of St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon. Prior to his retirement, he was employed at the Duquesne Club in Pittsburgh for 30 years and achieved his goal of becoming the Managing Executive Chef. He was a Certified Executive Chef and a member of the American Academy of Chefs and the culinary organization The Honorable Order of the Golden Toque. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards and fishing when he retired and was a member of several sportsman clubs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother James Lubinski. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Marjorie (Katchur); three children John, Lynn (Richard) Allison, Karen (George) Martin; grandchildren Jason (Crystal) Melkon, Britney (Nick) Napolitano and Gracie Martin; great grandchildren Roman and Sophia Napolitano; sisters Betty Jane Lubinski and Marlene (John) Moore. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon on Monday from 2-4 P.M, 6-8 P.M.. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday at 11:00 A.M at St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. www.shirleyfuneralhome.com.
