Diane Lynn Verdish, age 68, of White Oak, died surrounded by family on February 19, 2024. Born October 15, 1955, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Dan and Virginia (Ciolak) Verdish. Diane retired from U.S. Steel, Edgar Thompson Works, where she was one of few women in a male-dominated profession.

She was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous, where she helped and inspired many people. She was also a member of the First Evangelical Free Church. Di loved cooking, reading, and trips to Myrtle Beach.

Diane had the biggest heart and was the first to offer help to anyone in need. Although she had no children of her own, she took pride in helping raise her nieces and nephews.

Diane is survived by sisters Paula Verdish and Cindy (Gilbert) Riazzi; nieces and nephews, Heather (Christopher) Rutherford, Holly Nicholson, Jessica Levans, Shelby (Connor) Schade, Nathan Riazzi, Taylor Riazzi, Nina Nicholson, Mia Rutherford, Noah Nicholson, Gianna Rutherford, Judah Levans and Mackenzie Schade, and her beloved Shih Tzu, Milo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Marcia Marko, and nephew, Jordan Riazzi.

Arrangements were entrusted to Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.jaycox-jaworskifh.com. Chris Odasso, Supervisor. Per Di’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.

In remembrance of Diane’s life and love of children, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
