Paul R. Strotman, 75, of  Forward Township, passed away Monday September 4, 2023 and with heavy hearts and teary eyes, the world bid farewell to a true hero, and heaven welcomed his extraordinary soul. We now gather to remember the remarkable life of Paul, a man whose courage and boundless love touched us all. He was the son to the late Samuel and Elizabeth (Smith) Strotman. Paul was more than just a Vietnam Veteran; he was a warrior, with a heart of gold. His valor was exemplified by the 3 Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star adorning his chest - each a testament to his unwavering commitment to saving his comrades.

Paul's selflessness knew no boundaries; he faced danger with unwavering resolve to protect and save others. He embodied the essence of heroism - someone you could always rely on. However, beneath his tough exterior, Paul's heart radiated warmth and kindness. He and his soul mate, Debra (Istvanik) Strotman, first fell in love as teenagers; a love story that endured for an incredible 55 years. Through life's trials and triumphs, they remained inseparable, their love was a true testament of 'love endures all.' Paul had a passion for golf that he pursued with dedication and skill. He found solace in the serene waters of Lake Michigan, casting his line and savoring the beauty of nature. His heart forever held the memory of his cherished German Shepherd, Harley, who undoubtedly awaited their joyous reunion in heaven. Paul leaves behind his beloved wife, Debra; and his brothers, JD (Carol) Strotman, and Richard (Rebecca) Strotman. His memory lives on through the many nieces and nephews he held dear. Paul's sister-in-law, Lisa Istvanik, was his steady support and confidante. He held her in the highest esteem for all she did. His niece, Debra Timko, shared his journey, accompanying him on visits to the VA, where she cherished his stories and mischievous tales. Her love for him was boundless, and his absence will forever weigh heavy on her heart. In addition to his parents, Paul is preceded in death by his son, RP Strotman; and his brothers, Walter & Charles Strotman. Paul will leave a void that can never be filled in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him. The world is undoubtedly a sadder place without his radiant light, but his legacy of courage, love, and resilience will forever illuminate our hearts and guide us through life's challenges.
