Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | August 04, 2023

Diane L. Miele, 80, of North Huntingdon, passed away Friday, August 4, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 31, 1942 in Pittsburgh and was the daughter of the late William and Anita (Payne) McHenry.  She was wife of 61 years to the late Joseph A. Miele, who passed away August 29, 2022.  She was a 1960 graduate of Mt. Alvernia High School. She worked for over 35 years in the mortgage business in real estate and as a mortgage broker. In 1971, along with her late husband Joseph, she was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and attended and was an active member of The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Trafford. Diane was an accomplished equestrian rider and enjoyed gardening, cooking and wine making. Our mom was a special wife, mother, mee-maw and friend.  Her greatest joy besides her family, was to share with others the Bible's grand promises of no more suffering and death.  Diane will be greatly missed every single day until we see her again.  S

he is survived by daughter, Lori (Greg) Kourniotis of North Irwin; son, Joey (Laurie) Miele of Forest Hills; grandchildren, Joshua, Timothy and Megan; brother, William McHenry; an aunt, Peggy McHenry; numerous cousins;  her faithful feline companion, Ms. Kitty and her beloved horses, Sonny and Daniboy.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dennis Paul McHenry.  It was Diane's wish that there would be no funeral or memorial talk for her. Instead, she hoped that all her friends and family would remember the good times they had with her over the years when she was in better health. The family would like to give special thanks to her barn family at Uphill Dressage, for always looking after her and her horses during her time of illness. The family would also like to send a special thank you to Dr. Tageja and Jen Ross, along with the wonderful nurses and staff at The Hillman's Cancer Center in Monroeville for their exceptional care and kindness.   Arrangements are by the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak (412) 672-6322 Troy J. Gilbert, Director. Condolences may be made at GilbertFuneralHomeandCrematory.com
