ANNE C. DZURKO, 97 of Glassport died Jan. 20, 2016.  She is the daughte of the late George and Maria (Kachur) Basarab.  Wife of the late William T. Dzurko, Sr.  Mother of Mary (Tom) Mahoney of Poolesville, MD, William (Celeste) Dzurko, Jr. of Elizabeth and Thomas (Linda) Dzurko of El Paso, TX; grandmother of David, John, Carolyn, Daniel and Michael; also beloved nieces and nephews.

Anne was a longtime resident of Glassport,  After attending high school in Perryopolis, she became a hemotologist and worked in Oil City and McKeesport Hospital.  She was very proud of assisting in the set up of the first blood bank in the then McKeesport Hospital.  Anne was very active in her church and community.  She was a longtime member of the Holy Trinity Church in McKeesport and taught CCD there for 25 years.  She was a leader of the Girl Scout Troop1271 for 17 years.  Anne was also active in both Cub Scout and Boy Scout Troop 52.  Anne was very active in the community and authorized the history of Glassport for the bicentennial in 1976.  She was a member of the Glassport Women's Club and worked in the library for many years.  She acted as a consultant for the updating of the history for the past couple years.

Friends received Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport, Fri. 2-4 and 6-8.  A funeral mass will be held Sat. 10:00 am at Queen of the Rosary with Rev. Miroslaus Wojcicki.  Interment following Calvary Cemetery
