Walter C. Cieleska, age 95, of White Oak, died March 11, 2023, at Transitions Health Care in North Huntingdon. Born May 28, 1927, in Port Vue, he was the son of the late John Joseph and Mary (Glowata) Cieliczka and the beloved husband of the late Jacqueline (Messner) Cieleska.

Walter retired from U.S. Steel Duquesne Works in the Electric Furnace division. He was a member of Corpus Christi Church and, in later years, attended St. Angela of Merici Church. Walter served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid sports fan and especially loved watching the Pittsburgh Penguins. He was a nature lover who maintained several bird feeders and put corn out for the neighborhood deer. Walter enjoyed gardening and grew an extensive vegetable garden. His interests also included history, aviation, and space exploration. Walter also enjoyed listening to music and took great pride in his Polish heritage, regularly tuning in to Frank's Polka Party.
He is survived by daughters, Christina Horne of Allentown, PA, and Karen (Rebecca Kreiger) Cieleska, of Pittsburgh; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Walter was preceded in death by an infant son, Christopher Walter and his siblings,Stanley Cieleska, Pauline Buzek, John Cieleska,Raymond Cieleska, Catherine "Kay" Davidson, Helen Snyder, Joseph Cielieska, Rose Shields, Eleanor Kenzie and Mildred Heinz.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory. A blessing service will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. In the funeral home chapel.
