Matthew M. Cindrich, age 90 of Glassport, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2016 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.  Born October 22, 1925 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Joseph and Dragica Cindrich.  A member of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Parish in Christy Park and a US Army Veteran of World War II, Matthew retired after 34 years as a pipefitter for US Steel National Tube Works in McKeesport.

He was also a member of the former Sacred Heart Parish, a member of the White Oak American Legion #701, the CFU Lodge #3 of McKeesport, and a member of the Archer Hill Bowling League.  He joins his wife, the late Eleanor (Pomycala) Roper Cindrich, and was also preceded in death by a sister, Rose Juneco.  Matthew is survived by his stepsons William (Kathy) Roper of Lincoln Borough and Joseph Roper, with whom he resided; his grandchildren William and Beth Sudaric; his five great grandchildren,  especially his girl Alexis Roper, and also Ella Roper and Zachary, Kyle, and Mychal Provins; his brothers Frank (Helen) Cindrich of North Versailles and George (Dolly) Cindrich of White Oak; his sisters Mary Ann Kandala of North Versailles and Ann Pratt of Portland, OR; and also nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received in the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory,  4504 Walnut St., Versailles Borough, McKeesport, PA 15132 (412-678-3454) on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM and again on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 10 AM in St. Patrick's Church with Fr. Vincent Velas officiating.  Procession and burial will follow to Sacred Heart Cemetery, Port Vue.  www.bekavacfuneralhome.com
