Robert S. “Bob” Harper, age 85, of West Mifflin, died October 1, 2016, at UPMC McKeesport. Born September 20, 1931, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Septimus and Elizabeth (Weaver) Harper and the husband of Shirley (Morgan) Harper, for over 60 years.
Bob was retired from the Bechtel Bettis, Inc., in West Mifflin. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of Grace United Church of Christ and the Amvets Post # 8, where he served as past commander. He enjoyed Pittsburgh sports, college football and traveling with his wife.


In addition to his wife Shirley, he is survived by many nieces and nephews; and pet cat, “The Boss.”
Bob was preceded in death by siblings James, William, Arthur, Sabina Simmons, Mickey Thomas and Bessie Seaton; his dear pet dog “Donna.”
Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday, October 4, 2016, from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. Services will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor James Condron officiating. Burial will follow in Richland Cemetery.
