Eli Vojnovich, Jr., 92, of Duquesne, PA, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022. Eli was born October 16, 1929 in Duquesne, the son of the late Eli and Mary (Stipanovich) Vojnovich. He graduated from Duquesne High School in 1948 where he excelled on the swim team. He was an Army veteran, serving in Germany from 1952-1953. He was a devoted son and could be found, along with his brothers, working in the family beer garden, Butch’s Wonder Bar in Duquesne. He retired from US Steel. He was a lifelong member of St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in McKeesport. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Helen (Peter) Medic and brothers John, Mark (Betty) and William Vojnovich. He was also preceded in death by a niece and great niece. Eli was the favorite uncle of many of his nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He loved crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, drawing, painting and watching Pittsburgh sports. He made the best popcorn, always had a smile and will be missed dearly. He is survived by his brother Donald (Milena) Vojnovich and sister-n-law Dolores Vojnovich, all of North Huntingdon. He is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews, 23 great nieces and nephews and 22 great, great nieces and nephews.

He was born January 14, 1930 in Gaston, SC and was the son to the late I.D. and Katie (Green) Gantt. Dick is a retired carpenter and a lifelong member of the Buena Vista Volunteer Fire Company. He is survived by his loving wife, Bertha M. (Sharpe) Gantt of Buena Vista; daughters, Vicki Kinner of Buena Vista, Sue (Jim) Harchelroad of Elizabeth, and Linda Hanselman of Statesville NC; son, Ricky Gantt of Buena Vista; grandchildren, Ron & Steven (Kayla) Kinner, Jeremy (AJ) & Jonathan (Amanda ) Harchelroad, and Chelsea & Emily Toman; great-grandchildren, Karson & Kamron Kinner, and Grayson & Savannah Harchelroad; sister, Melba Gantt Morgan of Columbia SC; and lifelong family friend, Edward (Bucky) Bowels. Patricia "Patty" Balin age 81, of McKeesport, passed away on June 18, 2022, at UPMC McKeesport. Born May 30, 1941, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Francis Jess and Katherine Taylor and beloved wife to her high school sweetheart Thomas J. Balin for 61 years.

Patty volunteered at her church's religious education center and was a Cub Scout Den Mother. She was instrumental in forming the McKeesport Firefighters Ladies Auxiliary in 1973. Patty enjoyed bowling with friends in the William Penn bowling league and the senior league at North Versailles Lanes. She loved cruise ships, casinos trips, and her fluffy Bichon Frise "Pookie Bear."

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Thomas Jr. and David Balin.

Bach, age 83, of McKeesport, died June 20, 2022, at Kane Community Living Center in McKeesport.  Born November 3, 1938, in Cook County, IL, she was the daughter of the late William and Nelle (Caton) Fidler and wife of the late Robert E. Anita S. Germany, age 33, of Versailles, died June 17, 2022, at home. Born December 21, 1988, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of Earl L. Germany and Yolanda (Irie Griffin Jr.) Medina.
Anita was a CNA and worked in many places such as Kane Regional, UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, and the VA Hospital. In her free time, she loved shopping and spending time with friends, and laughing.
In addition to her parents she is survived by her partner, John R. Jones; children, Jayden Coulter and Jordyn Jones; siblings, Antonio Medina, Irie Griffin III, Jayvon Germany, Jayla Germany, Jay Germany, and Shawnee Germany; also many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Family and friends may be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, June 27, 2022, from 10 a.m. till the time of the memorial service at noon in the funeral home chapel.

CHARLES I FAZIO of North Huntingdon, PA died June 19, 2022. He was born January 28, 1937, in
Pittsburgh, PA. He was the son of the late Charles R. Fazio and Frances Sirianni.
Chuck graduated from Munhall High School, class of 1955, where he was a stand-out wrestler.
Following graduation, he went into the Army Reserves. Upon his arrival home he went to work for
Kroger’s Grocery store for 35 years and then worked for Daily’s Juice Company and in his retirement
year’s Bettis Atomic Laboratory in West Mifflin.
Chuck was predeceased by his wife Madelon E. Fazio of 47 years. Surviving are his daughters Celeste
(Steve) Spanitz, Carla (Bill) Pratt and grandchildren Amber (Paul) Czyz, Nicholas Pratt, Gina (Rider)
Dinnen and Great Grandchildren Brighton and Beckham Czyz.
Chuck was lucky to find love again with Marlene P. Fazio for 14 years. He was loved by her children,
Douglas (Michelle) Kukta, Robert (Suzanne) Kukta, grandchildren Isabella, Matthew, and Lily Kukta. He
also loved his and Marlene’s dog Marco.
Chuck was an avid golfer, bowler and enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with his friends. He was also
an active member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in North Huntingdon.
Chuck loved his large family, brothers and sisters include Anthony Fazio (deceased) his wife Janet, Frank
(Gloria-deceased) Fazio, Glenn (Barb) Fazio, Cheryl (Bill) Delaney, Michelle (Bill) Sawyer, Greg (Vickie)
Fazio, Bev (Tom) Keller and many nieces and nephews.
He also cherished time spent with his best friend’s Sam and Phyllis Aiello.
Friends and family will be received Friday from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay
Pike, North Huntingdon, PA 15642. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m.,
June 25th at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton in North Huntingdon, PA.
Chuck loved the black and gold and all things related to Pittsburgh sports so we encourage you to

Darlene was an animal lover, liked to play bingo, and was always a good cook. She enjoyed traveling to Florida's Gulf Coast.
She is survived by her life long friend of 36 years, Debbie Brown; sisters, Beverly (the late Frank) Hijek, Glenda (Karen Light) Borowski, and Lori Borowski.
Darlene is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was a member of Dormition of the Holy Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church, choir Director for 42 years and also a member of the Balalaika Group and the Folk Dance Group. She had worked for the McKeesport Area School District as a Cafeteria Server for over 15 years.

Richard W. “Rick” Monaghan, 66, of Dravosburg, died Saturday, June 18, 2022 at UPMC Shadyside.  He was a retired maintenance technician for Morgan Properties, a member of McKeesport Presbyterian Church and the Clairton Anglers Club, was a graduate of McKeesport High School and a graduate of the Pittsburgh Culinary Institute.  Rick is survived by his wife, Rebecca “Becky” Kuhn Monaghan, sons, Mitchell Monaghan of Liberty Borough and Bill (Melissa) Pearson of Elizabeth, daughters, Cricket Pearson of Phoenix, AZ and Niki Monaghan of Carnegie, PA, 8 grandchildren, Lyric, Jeminni, Mason, Connor, and Aiden Monaghan and Alex, Derek, and Maggie Pearson, and by his sister, Rhonda (Larry) Demko of Wilson, also by nieces and nephews.  Born in McKeesport on March 11, 1956, son of the late Captain Richard “Bud” Monaghan, he is survived by his mother, Dolores “Dee” Bell Monaghan of Dravosburg.  He was preceded in death by his brothers, Rob, Rusty, and Randy, and by his son, Mason.  Friends will be received in the Hunter Funeral Home, Inc., 1600 Coursin Street, McKeesport, PA  15132 on Thursday, June 23, 2022 form 2-4 and 6-8 PM.  A service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, June 24, 2022 at noon with the Rev. George Robert Anderson

George Robert Anderson, 78, of Elizabeth Township, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 17, 2022 at home. George was born February 19, 1944 in Harrisburg and was the son of the late Norman D. and Helen L. (Wright) Anderson.  George was a proud United States Air Force Veteran, who served during The Vietnam war. He was a jack of all trades who held numerous jobs throughout his life, but most notably worked at Auto Zone in McKeesport and as a technician for RC Haywood.  He was former member of Park Baptist Church and a current member of Elizabeth Baptist Church, where he was a part of the choir and bell choir.  George enjoyed singing and playing his numerous guitars, he also wrote and recorded some music as well.  He was a people person and had an amazing sense of humor, he liked to joke with everyone.  He loved his grandchildren very much. He also loved his dogs, especially his dog, Hannity. George was very patriotic and was proud of his service in the Air Force and will be greatly missed.

Faith, age 79, of West Mifflin, passed away on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 19, 2022.  Born in West Mifflin on March 14, 1943, he was the son of the late Peter J. and Lydia Marie (Miller) Faith. He was retired from Mesta Machine as a lathe operator and later did landscaping and mechanical work. He was a member of the Terrace Church of the Nazarene and was a volunteer firefighter with the West Mifflin Volunteer Fire Department, Homeville. He proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War (1961-1964). He is survived by his children, Melissa (Jesse) Reid of Plum Boro and Chrystal Faith of West Mifflin; granddaughter, Starr (Chris) Demeri; great granddaughter, Jaycee Faith Demeri; and sister, Dorathy Marie (Charles) Youngfleisch of Schellsburg, PA. He was predeceased by brothers and sisters, Lois (late Charles “Tex”) Gwinn, Marian (late Clyde) Kahn, Eleanor (late Paul) Bickerton, Peter J. (Late Iva) Faith, Albert Faith and Florence (husband Joe survives) Utterback of Plum Boro. She was born November 1, 1957 in McKeesport, daughter of the late Lloyd E. and Dorothy (Kondrich) Dakin. Before her retirement, Rebecca taught at Penn Hills High School, where she was named Teacher of the Year. She was a member of the Ardara Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Becky was a passionate teacher, a master quilter, and a trusted mentor. She was a beloved daughter, sister, and friend, and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her sisters, Deborah Dakin and Loretta Dakin, her brother, Lloyd Dakin Jr. and his wife, He-Bing; her nephew Lloyd Tai Dakin and niece Katra Dakin. There will be no visitation. Marlene (Jurenek) DeSimone, age 84 of Clairton, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022 at Seneca Place in Verona. Born September 14, 1937 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Troychak) Jurenek.  Marlene, along with her husband, co-owned the M.J. DeSimone Fruit Company in Clairton and was a member of St. Isaac Jogues Roman Catholic Church (St. John 23rd Parish) in Jefferson Hills. Marlene engaged in many charitable works, particularly in her former parishes of St. Joseph and St. Clare in Clairton.  She was also known for making outstanding fruit baskets near the holidays. She loved crafts and gardening but her main focus was always her family. Marlene was preceded in death by her husband Victor DeSimone, who passed away on November 12, 2020. She is survived by her daughters Rosemarie (Carl) Fetch of Monongahela, Victoria (Gene) Zombek of Wilkins Twp., Marlene (Scott) Stachowski of Milton, GA, and Carol (Samir) Joglekar of Duluth, GA; her grandchildren Hilarie and Jordan Zombek, Austin and Emily Stachowski, and Maya and Pierce Joglekar; her brother Don (Jane) Jurenek of Georgia; and also nieces and nephews.
