Mary Beth Cornell Popham, 53, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2022 at home. She was born September 11, 1968 in McKeesport and was the daughter of Lucille (Patterson) Cornell Cindric of Greenock and the late Robert J. Cornell, Sr.  Mary Beth was proprietor of the former Cozy Corner Cafe in Elizabeth Township and was a 1986 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her son, Gary Popham and daughter, Carly Popham, sisters, Kathleen (Kent)  Bonadio, Carol Sue (Joe) Palady, and Patty (Shawn) Leber, brother, Bob (Tina) Cornell, Jr., step-mother, Sally Cornell and nieces and nephews. Anne D. (Harrington) Lofstrom, 90, of N. Huntingdon, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2022 after several years of dementia / Alzheimer’s. Anne was born on July 28, 1932, daughter of the late Mary (Joyce) and Michael Harrington. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church and served for Christians Mothers for many years. She also was a member of Penns Woods civic Association. She worked at Bell telephone, Lofstrom Electronics, Inc., World of Values and retired from the Kmart Corporation. Anne was very charitable and liked helping others. She was preceded in death by her late husband Richard C. Lofstrom, her brother Robert (June) Harrington. Sister-in-law Barbara Harrington, her lifetime best friend Margie Soboslay, as well as many other relatives, neighbors and friends. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and survived by her three children, son Thomas R. Lofstrom of Lakewood, CO, son William C. Lofstrom (Ruth) of New Alexandria PA, daughter Joyce A. Lofstrom of Long Pond PA, and her only grandchild, Ean E. Lofstrom of Long Pond PA. She is also survived by her brother John Harrington of Gibsonia PA, nephews, Robert (Chris) Harrington of PA, Roy (Tina) Harrington of OH, Michael Harrington of FL, David (Kristin) Harrington of NJ, and nieces Virginia (Rich) Casalone of TN, Donna (Bill) Haller of SC, Patricia (Ken) Spicuzza of FL, Susan Killeen of PA, Sally Harrington of NJ. She is survived as well by many other relatives, friends, neighbors. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon PA. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11:30 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church followed by interment in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park, N Huntingdon. Farabaugh, age 90 of Clairton, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 in Arrowood at Southwestern.  Born Jaunary 31, 1932 in Allegheny Twp., Cambria County, she was a daughter of the late Maurice and Jeanne (Parrish) Farabaugh.  A former telephoner operator and circuit designer for Bell Telephone's, then Verizon's, Pittsburgh office, Rebecca was a member of Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish - St. Clare of Assisi Church in Clairton and the Telephone Pioneers of America and was also a volunteer at Jefferson Hospital.  She is survived by her sister Anne Donnelly of Williamsport and many nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, Rebecca was preceded in death by her sister Mary Barbara Colaianni and her brothers: Thomas, Stephen, and John Dennis Farabaugh.

Joseph A. Miele

Joseph A. Miele, 83, of North Huntingdon, passed away Monday, August 29, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 20, 1939 in Pittsburgh and was the son of the late Steven and Catherine (Angelini) Miele. Joe was a 1956 graduate of Westinghouse High School and went on to work for 32 years as a High Bay Crane Operator at US Steel Edgar Thompson Plant, where he retired from in 2002.  He was baptized in 1971 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and attended The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Trafford. Joe enjoyed working on many projects in his garage and always maintained spotless vehicles.  He enjoyed talking to people about what he had learned from the bible and took great comfort in the promise of a future where pain and death will be no more. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Opalinski; son, Edward; sisters, Jean Janicki and Betty Porterfield. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Delmont and her husband, Barney; grandchildren, Brian (Jackie) Delmont, Lisa (Mike) Bowen, Edward (Angela) Opalinski; great-grandchildren, Alivia, Evan and Zeke. Dr. Lynn Marie Simko

Dr. Lynn Marie Simko, 66, of North Versailles, PA joined her lost loved ones in heaven on Thursday, August 25th, 2022.  Lynn, the daughter of Emil and Marion Coletta was born April 7th, 1956. 

She is survived by her children Dr. Bethany and Derek Kamis; John and Dr. Rachelle Simko; four beloved grandchildren, Owen and Gabriel Kamis; Brynn and Emilia Simko. 

She also left behind three siblings; Frank Coletta (Deb Coletta), Dr. Susan Coletta, Amy Lizza (Walter Lizza), and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Lynn devoted her life to caring for others. Caring for her family, friends, and countless others in her work as a critical care nurse at West Penn Hospital. 

Lynn valued education earning several master’s degrees and a PhD. in nursing.  She passed on her knowledge working as a professor of nursing at Duquesne University for nearly thirty years.  She also fought for the mistreated, working in the area of legal nurse consulting.  

Lynn will be remembered most for her kindness, tireless work ethic, for how much she cherished her grandchildren and as a devoted mother.

Maricco Alonzo Randolph

Maricco Alonzo Randolph, 32, of Duquesne, was born December 27, 1989, in Pittsburgh, PA he was the beloved son of the late  Emeric and Lynne Randolph.

Maricco went to McKeesport high school where he was popular he loved everyone and everyone loved him. Maricco remodeled homes at Handyman Sam services Llc and with many other companies. He was the man with many plans!  Maricco was the protector of the family. He was charismatic, outgoing, a comedian, and loved hard. His smile would brighten up any room he was in, his laughter was contagious and hugs were warm and comforting you felt love within. The love he had for children was unspeakable.

Maricco had a love for rapping and writing music. He would always randomly text his loved ones “What you doing?,” “you okay?” and “I love you.”

Maricco departed this life on August 18, 2022, in Pittsburgh, PA. He was preceded in death by his mother Lynne Marie Randolph and father Emeric Alfonso Randolph.

Wayne Ernest Bostak, age 75, of Winter Park, Florida, passed away on August 24, 2022. He was born on September 12, 1946 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania the son of Ernest Otto Bostak and Virginia White.

Wayne was a letter carrier in Altamonte Springs, FL for 33 years. He was a proud US Army veteran. He was also an avid sports fan; particularly the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pirates; and he loved to watch his granddaughters play softball. His was a life well-lived for his God and his country.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Ann (Simmons) Bostak; sons Brian (Emily) Bostak, and Chad Bostak; grandchildren Madison, Meagan, and Joshua Bostak; and sister Ginny (Paul) Novak.

She was born October 8, 1938 in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late John and Ruth (Staley) Cantella. Prior to her retirement, Dolores was a secretary for Mars Area Middlesex Elementary School and she loved her students. She enjoyed camping, dancing, playing cards and baking cookies and was known as "the cookie lady". In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Wendy Hanlon. She is survived by her loving husband, Charles Hepler; son, Jeffrey and his wife, Dawn; daughter, Barbara Blake; brothers, John (Adrienne) Cantella and Mike Cantella; grandchildren, Justin (Shannon) Blake, Steven Blake, Nikolas Hennig; and numerous nieces and nephews. (Naccarelli) Tognarine; sons, Wayne Tognarine of Elizabeth and Richard (Mary McAdams) Tognarine of North Versailles; brothers, Jerome Tognarine of Cape Coral, FL, Jude Tognarina of Elizabeth, Jay (Catherine) Tognarini of Elizabeth and Juan (Adrie) Tognarini of Coulter; also, nieces and nephews. He was a retired chemical engineer at PPG Industries in Barberton, OH and he and his wife were the founding members of the Mon Valley Cloggers. Born March 9, 1934 in Somers, IA, he was a son of the late Clifford J. Loehr and Neva (Morris) King and husband of the late Patricia (Barlow) Loehr. He is survived by four children, Deborah (Donald Rudat) Morgan of Forward Township, Mark (Maureen) Loehr of Boiling Springs, SC, Andrea (Jeff) Hudson of Akron, OH and Lesa (William) DeMarrais of Forward Township; eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; sister, LaDonna Rugg of Iowa. Gregory Michael Firda, 61 of Elizabeth Township, formerly of Lincoln Borough, passed away Friday, August 26, 2022 now at rest after a great fight with cancer. He was born on March 10, 1961 in McKeesport. He was a member of Sts. Joachim and Anne Parish-St. Michael Church in Elizabeth Township and was a 1979 graduate of St. Elizabeth Catholic School in Pleasant Hills. To many Greg was a true walking angel, and now will continue to be our angel in heaven to be reunited with his loving parents John Firda, and Agnes Bernadette (Behun) Firda. Greg is survived by his brother Jeffrey (Tammy) Firda of Lincoln Borough, nephew John Firda, nieces Alexis Firda and Avonlea (Blaine) Gergley, Ashley (Bradley) Domer who resembled to be his own daughter along with her children Bradley and Mateo who he deeply enjoyed the presence of till his last hours.

Robert E. “Bob” Winterbottom, 82 of Dravosburg, formerly of McKeesport, passed away on Friday, August 26th, 2022, in West Mifflin. He was born in Turtle Creek on November 7th, 1939. He is survived by longtime friend Virginia M. Olinski, as well as sons Robert (Tina) of Claxton, GA, and James Winterbottom of East McKeesport, and daughter Helen L. Korinko of McKeesport. Further survivors include 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 2 nieces and 6 nephews, and his beloved dog Annie. He is also survived by his brother William Winterbottom of Turtle Creek.
