Eleanor T. Casciato, age 89, of White Oak, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023. Eleanor was born on February 15, 1933 and raised in McKeesport’s Tenth Ward. She is the daughter of the late Stephen V. Tomko and Mary V. Fedasz Tomko. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Ralph Casciato. A fiercely devoted mother and grandmother, she is also survived by sons, Chris (Lisa) Casciato of Manhattan, New York; Greg Casciato of Port Chester, New York; and grandchildren, Jack; Kate; Will; James; and Teddy Casciato. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Stephen T. Tomko.

Michele "Shelly" Marie Dusi, 59, of Clairton, passed away Friday, January 6, 2023. She was born October 27, 1963 in Monongahela and was the daughter of the Mary Ann (Williams) Martin of Mount Vernon and the late George William Martin, Sr. Shelly was a School Bus Driver and had previously worked for Jefferson Memorial Park in Pleasant Hills. She was a 1981 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, William C. Dusi, brother, George Martin Jr., sister, Debra Crouch and nieces and nephews. There is no visitation. Private inurnment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela. Dorothy Alice Come, 87, of Mount Vernon, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born April 20, 1935 in Elizabeth and was the daughter of the late Noland and Sara (Dave) Messner. She was the wife of the late Alfred L. Come who passed away October 17, 2003. Dorothy was a member of the Mount Vernon Community Presbyterian Church, and the PSEA. She was a retired School Teacher for the Elizabeth Forward School District with 39 years of service. She was a graduate of West Newton High School and the Indiana State Teachers College. She was a member and Past President of the Mount Vernon Youth Association and the former McKeesport Novel Club. She was also a Lay Minister for several area churches.

Nick R. Coban, age 64, of McKeesport, died January 12, 2023, at home.  Born October 12, 1958, in McKeesport, he was the son of Eleanor (Holden) Coban and the late Nicholas Coban.  Nick was a local DJ known as DJ Top Cat and played at the Sons of Italy in Glassport, the Viking Lounge, Sahara Club, and Cal's Cantina.  Nick also worked in food service management for many years with Eat'n Park and the Big Boy restaurants.  Nick enjoyed camping with family at Scotty Land and was a huge Steelers fan.  In addition to his mother, Nick is also survived by children, Amanda (Matt) Coban, Nicholas (Christine) Coban, Anthony Coban, Christian Datel, and Blaise (Brianna) Datel; grandchildren, Logan, Luka, Emma, and Ellie; sister, Janice (Jim) Coban.  Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, January 21, 2023, from noon until the memorial service at 2 p.m.  Condolences and memories may be shared at www.willigfuneralcremationservices.com.  Charles Danforth, Supervisor

Robert T. Bico, 64, of Coulter, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, January 12, 2023 at home. He was born March 25, 1958 in McKeesport   and was the son of Robert H.  "Bobby B" Bico of White Oak and the late Geraldine M. (Tkac) Bico.  He was a member of St. John The Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in McKeesport.  He worked for over 20 years as the head custodian in The Norwin School District.  In his free time he enjoyed gardening flowers, cutting the grass, cooking and baking.  He will be greatly missed.

Stanley and Helen were married for 71 years.  Helen was employed at Zayre’s Department Store in Versailles and worked as a clerk. Edward W. “Butch” Bechtold, 72, of North Huntingdon, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at UPMC East Hospital. He was born January 9, 1950 in Pittsburgh. Prior to his retirement, Edward was fire chief and dispatcher for the Edgewood Fire Department and a veteran of the US Army having served during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the Norwin Elks and enjoyed fishing, attending oldies concerts, dressing up as Santa for the disabled children and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Linda (Moran) Bechtold; daughters, Amy Hileman and her husband, Michael, Kristy Champion (Jason Cheripka); grandchildren, Brennan, Ryan, Karsyn and Reegan. George served in the US Army during WWII and the Korean War. He was born April 15, 1934 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late James and Ruth (Eicher) Ridgeway. Prior to his retirement, Frank was a mechanical engineer for Westinghouse Bettis. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and was a member of Sylvania Hills Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing, white water rafting, shooting at the range, leather working and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Ridgeway. He is survived by his sons, Scott and his wife, Collette, Brett and his wife, Kimberly; daughter, Karen Johnson and her husband, Tim; grandchildren, Jeremy (Crissy) Olson, Karisa (Frank) Jackson, Priscilla Johnson; great-grandchildren, Alina, Kylie, Haley, Raelyn, Elliott, Adeline and Sienna. Frank exemplified Christ and through his life drew others to our Lord and Savior. He will be in our hearts until the day we are all united once again in heaven. Marion (Batinich) Lokmer, age 94 of Chagrin Falls, OH, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023 in UH Geauga Medical Center, Chardon, OH.  Born in Clairton on November 25, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Marion and Mary (Nikolic) Batinich.  Marion was a lifelong member of C.F.U. Lodge 248 in Clairton and was very proud of her Dalmatian heritage. As a daughter of an immigrant family, her work ethic and devotion to family were established at an early age. Proudly bearing her father’s name, she dedicated many years in helping to run their family business, Marion’s Tavern, in Jefferson Borough. Marion devoted her life to friends and family, especially her granchildren. Being with others, doing for others, and giving to others brought her much happiness. She was an avid reader and loved to travel. Marion will always be remembered for her strong belief in herself and her unwavering faith in God. May her amazing strength carry on and inspire others. Marion was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Canfield, Ohio, where she had formerly resided after moving from Jefferson Borough.

Alice Smith Rinkacs, 92, of North Huntingdon formerly of White Oak, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital.  She was born August 24, 1930 in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Ciborowski.  Prior to her retirement, Alice worked as a teller for PNC Bank and was the owner / operator of Smitty's Restaurant in Boston, PA. She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed riding bikes, swimming, vacationing at the beach and Disney World, listening to music, dancing, crafting and her canine companions.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Denis; son, John Gerald Smith Jr., and sister, Dorothy Balog.  She is survived by her grandchildren, Kelly Poppell, Shelley Simonazzi, Brian Smith, Brandon Smith, Zak Smith, Alexander Smith; sisters, Joann Wanat and Patricia Lennon; numerous great-grandchildren; and Rinkacs children, Bill, Denny, Chris, John, Tom and David and numerous grandchildren.  Friends will be received from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Thursday at the James W. Garbin Sr., 83, of North Huntingdon, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Hillside Manor, Uniontown.  He was born July 12, 1939 in Biddle, a son of the late Angelo and Ida (Bianchi) Garbin.  Prior to his retirement, Bob was a truck driver for CCX and a member of United Methodist Church of Irwin.  He belonged to the Silver Sneaker Softball League, enjoyed watching old movies, and was an avid deer hunter.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sondra Garbin, son-in-law, Brent, and siblings, John Garbin, Alice Marsiglio and Fred Garbin.  He is survived by his children, Lisa Maskowitz and her husband, Scott, Lori L. Rankin (Tim) and Robert G. Garbin Jr.; grandchildren, Nicole (Chris), Trista (Marty), Michael (Beth), R.J.
