Tamara M. (Toth) Cochenour, age 56, of Finleyville, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Jefferson Hospital. She loved being a grandma. Born April 16, 1966 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of Les (Jackie) Toth of Monongahela and the late Jofern (Olles) Toth. In addition to her father, she is survived by her daughter, Chantly Cochenour of Clairton; son, Terry (Jessica) Toth of Reno, NV; granddaughter, Alona Felicetty; brothers, Timmy Toth of Elrama, Troy (Colette) Toth of Charleroi, Jake Toth of Monongahela and Jess Toth of Monongahela; also, nieces and nephews. Joseph Bartolomeo

Joseph Bartolomeo, age 72 of Clairton and Dublin OH, passed away peacefully at his family home, in Clairton, where he resided for the last year, with his wife and son by his side on Friday, September 9, 2022.  Born on February 7, 1950 in McKeesport, he was survived by wife Donna Jean (Alderson) Bartolomeo and his son Todd Bartolomeo.  He was preceded in death by his son Joey Bartolomeo, his parents Carmela and George L. Bartolomeo Sr., and his brother Bob Bartolomeo. His surviving brothers are George L. Bartolomeo Jr. of Blue Springs MO, and John Bartolomeo of NYC. A 1968 graduate of Clairton High School, and a 1972 graduate of I.U.P., where he received bachelor’s degree in education and played football. He graduated from Franklin University in Columbus Ohio with his master’s degree in business.  Joe worked as a manager at Busy Beaver in Monessen, where he won manager of the year, a car and many awards. He was promoted to regional manager at Busy Beaver Home Centers for the state of Ohio. He came home to PA and worked as Vice President for Stanford Home Centers and Magic 97 FM and B94 FM in marketing, public relations, outside sales. He retired from Fairfield Development at their Dublin, Ohio location, as Project Manager and Assistant to the East Coast Regional Manager.

Edward J. Bleil, age 85, of Elizabeth, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at UPMC McKeesport Hospital. He was the retired owner of Bleil Indoor Air in Elizabeth, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and a member of the Pleasant Hills Masonic Lodge 509. He was also a member of the former Primitive Methodist Church in Buena Vista. Born April 18, 1937 in Clairton, he was a son of the late Edward N. and Sophia (Stanczak) Bleil. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gayle (Holliday) Bleil; daughter, Kelly Dziaminski of Elizabeth; sons, Edward "JR" (Donna) Bleil of Elizabeth and Kevin (Karen Slavick) Bleil of Elizabeth Twp.; grandchildren, Nikki (Michael) Lupari, Danielle (Orrie) Rockwell, Natalie Bleil and Grant (Kaylee) Bleil; great-grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas, Danica and Easton; sister, Bernie Jenkins-Hillman of Forward Twp.; also, nieces and nephews. Russell G. "Rusty" Boal, age 55, of Elizabeth, formerly of Clairton, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022 at home. He was a maintenance supervisor for CMS Properties in Pittsburgh. He was an assistant softball coach and loved his Harley Davidson motorcycles. Born December 23, 1966 in McKeesport, he was a son of Evelyn A. (Olesky) (Edward) Bendik of Clairton and the late David R. Boal. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Tiffany A. (Scott) Boal; daughters, Elizabeth, Olivia and Sarabeth Boal at home; son, Michael Boal at home; brothers, David (Marsha) Boal of Jefferson Hills and Jeffrey Boal of White Oak; also, nieces and nephews. Clara Mae (Hobaugh) Janicki, age 87, of Blaine Hill and formerly of Port Orange, FL, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at home. She was a member and former deacon assistant at the Elizabeth Baptist Church and a former associate member at the New Hope Baptist Church in Port Orange, FL. She was a member of the choir at both churches, enjoyed gardening and cooking and was famous for her cabbage rolls. Her family and friends often referred to her as a Prayer Warrior. Born January 4, 1935 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Clarence H. and Mary (Kadar) Hobaugh. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Alfred Janicki; children, Daryl (Cathy) Janicki of Lake Frederick, VA, Debra Bender of Delmont, Mark (Susan) Janicki of Lockhart, TX and Lisa Janicki of Blaine Hill; grandchildren, Eric Janicki, Jason (Olga) Janicki, Nadia (Timothy) Speney, Miranda (Sean) Floor, Chad (Samantha) Bender, Rebecca (Jesse) Janicki, David Janicki and Michelle Janicki; eleven great-grandchildren; brothers, George Hobaugh of Bunola and Allen Hobaugh of Elizabeth; her cat, Graycie; also, nieces and nephews. Schreck, age 86, of Clairton, passed away August 24, 2022 at The Willows At Meadow Branch, Winchester VA.  Daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Schreck and sister of the late Barbara Barrett.  Loving aunt of Roy and his wife Carolyn, and Joe and his wife Linda, great-aunt of Mary, Sean, Brian and Shannon.  Mary was a school nurse for the Clairton School District for 35 years.  She enjoyed being with family and friends, traveling, musicals, crocheting and sewing.  She was a lifetime member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association, National Education Association and AARP Wilson Chapter #1612.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In her 94th year, Dorothy (Krajack) Klasnic, age 94, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 under Amedisys Hospice Care at Arden Courts Jefferson Hills.  Born on March 11, 1928 to Croatian immigrants, the late Mijo and Dora (Kralj) Krajac, Dorothy was a lifelong resident of Port Vue where she and her late husband John (Bones) Klasnic enjoyed 63 years of marriage.  Dorothy was a great baker and passed down her recipes with personal guidance to her family.  A member of Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge No.3 in McKeesport, she was proud of her Croatian heritage. she was also a member of the Port Vue Senior Citizen’s and St. Mark’s Parish.  Dorothy is survived by a loving and grateful daughter Debra Klasnic Wesolowski (Mark) of Jefferson Hills, granddaughter Julia Wesolowski Kysela (Daniel) of South Fayette and great granddaughter Katherine Kysela. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces.  Dorothy was the last of her family and was preceded in death by siblings Joseph Krajack, Michael Krajack, Rose Krajack Medic and George Krajack who will surely welcome her home.  Special thanks to the staff and administration at Arden Courts for their remarkable personal care and many acts of kindness.

It is with profound sadness we announce that Karen Elizabeth Jacky passed away in her Clairton, PA home on September 1st, 2022 at a youthful age of 67. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on October 1st, 1954 to late William and Audrey (Stokke) Jacky. Karen was a 1973 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School.  She later was married from 1975-1998 to Eric Knabenschuh. They resided in Elizabeth, PA where they would raise their only child Jon Knabenschuh. In addition to being a stay at home mom Karen also worked for her father’s insurance company from 1985-1991. She later moved to Clairton, PA and started her career as a senior service administrator for Quick Med Claims for the next 27 years. During that time Karen met her longtime loving companion Bill Baxter of 25 years.

Nancy Mollise

Nancy (Kovac) Mollise, 78, of Elizabeth Township, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022, surrounded by her beloved husband Sal, children and family. Nancy was born in McKeesport on September 22, 1943. She was the devoted, caring and ever-loving wife of her husband of 54 years, Salvatore Paul Mollise. Nancy and Sal would have been celebrating their 55th wedding anniversary in a few weeks. Nancy is survived by husband Sal, along with her three children, Maria (Robert Svedberg) Mollise of Atlanta, GA, Michele (Michael) Pirrone of Atlanta, GA and Salvatore Paul (Jennifer Bickerstaff) Mollise, II of Elizabeth Township; sister, Dorothy Kovac of McKeesport; sister-in-law, Barbara (Robert) Whiteacre of Washington; grandchildren, Jacob and Joseph Svedberg; and step-grandchildren, Clay, Trinity, Madison and Beau Pirrone. Nancy was predeceased by parents, John and Anna (Mital) Kovac; sisters, Charlotte and Joan Kovac, and brother, John Kovac, all of McKeesport; and parents-in-law, Frank and Eleanor Mollise of West Mifflin. Nancy was a dedicated member of St. Michael’s Catholic Parish in Elizabeth Township for more than 50 years and truly enjoyed working the Lenten fish fry and crafting palm crosses for Palm Sunday and Easter services. She graduated from St. Peter’s High School in McKeesport and was retired from Great American Federal and Three Rivers Bank, where she enjoyed helping and guiding her banking customers for several decades. She was also a member of Jednota and Elizabeth Township Seniors, and a breast cancer survivor participating in numerous Race for the Cure walks over the decades. Nancy’s true joy came from being with her close-knit family and her lifelong Scenery Drive neighbors and friends, and was known throughout the community for her incredible hospitality, delicious homemade meals, warm hugs, caring letters, Slovak pastries, and her and Sal’s manicured gardens.

She was the mother of Dean Tomchek of Clairton, Timothy Tomcheck of Jennerstown, Phillip Simpkins of McKeesport and Rose Ann (James DeVault) Simpkins of Clairton; grandmother of Brandon Tomcheck of McKeesport and Thomas (Heather Burnside) Simpkins of Washington, PA. Catherine B. West, age 71 of Versailles, passed away at home on Thursday, September 1, 2022.  Born September 5, 1950 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Herbert C. and Mary C. (Rodman) West.  A member of Mary, Mother of God Parish - Corpus Christi Church, Catherine worked as a computer technician for many years, first with G.C. Murphy and Co., then Sargent Electric, and then heading the computer room at Braddock Hospital.  She finished her work life at WalMart.  As a child, she was a Girl Scout and McKeesport Majorette Drill Team member, and was also a proud Gold Star Family member.  Besides her parents, Catherine was predeceased by her brother James E. West, USMC, who died in the Vietnam War.  She is survived by her brothers Officer Thomas West, McKeesport PD of McKeesport and Jay (Nadine) West, USMC of Greenock; her nephew Justin Richel; her niece Phalyn (Bob) Richel Lewis; and her great-nephews-and-nieces Austin, Chase, Lexie, Teegan, and Shawn.

Donald L. Johnson, age 78, of Lincoln Borough, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at UPMC East. A Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, he retired as an electronic technician for Westinghouse Seimans in Oakdale. He attended Glassport United Methodist Church and was a member of American Legion Post 801 in Roscoe and the Elizabeth Twp. Sportsman’s Association. Born November 16, 1943 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Arthur and Dora (Stoops) Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, M. Kathleen  (Bennett) Holmes Johnson; daughters, Tammy (Ken) Argyros of Elizabeth, Donald (Christene) Holmes of Liberty Borough, Patricia (Thomas) Yeager of Lincoln Borough and Denise (Joe) Gray of Allenport; grandchildren, Amy (Jesse), Seth (Stacey), Jesse (Alex), April (Matt), Tyler (Taylor), Amanda, Ashley (Brandon), Victoria (Nick), Alexis (Matthew) and Alayna; 13 great-grandchildren; also, nieces and nephews.
