Marion (Batinich) Lokmer, age 94 of Chagrin Falls, OH, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023 in UH Geauga Medical Center, Chardon, OH.  Born in Clairton on November 25, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Marion and Mary (Nikolic) Batinich.  Marion was a lifelong member of C.F.U. Lodge 248 in Clairton and was very proud of her Dalmatian heritage. As a daughter of an immigrant family, her work ethic and devotion to family were established at an early age. Proudly bearing her father’s name, she dedicated many years in helping to run their family business, Marion’s Tavern, in Jefferson Borough. Marion devoted her life to friends and family, especially her granchildren. Being with others, doing for others, and giving to others brought her much happiness. She was an avid reader and loved to travel. Marion will always be remembered for her strong belief in herself and her unwavering faith in God. May her amazing strength carry on and inspire others. Marion was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Canfield, Ohio, where she had formerly resided after moving from Jefferson Borough.

Margaret "Margie" (Gasparovic) Snodgrass

Margaret "Margie" (Gasparovic) Snodgrass, age 80 of Pittsburgh and originally of McKeesport, passed away January 9, 2023 after a brief but courageous battle with an illness.  She is the loving wife of 45 years of John; loving mother and proud mom of Dr. Steven (Kelly) of Greenville, SC and Christopher (Anna) of Swissvale; devoted grandmother of Simon; and beloved Aunt Margie to many special nieces and nephews.  A graduate of McKeesport High School who also attended Carlow University, Margie worked for many years as a meticulously organized professional secretary, most notably for Westinghouse Electric Corp. during the 1970s.  She alternated her career with time as a stay-at-home mom, frequent volunteer at Sacred Heart Elementary School, a eucharistic minister and active parishioner at Sacred Heart Church in Shadyside and later a parishioner at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Point Breeze.  She was a pious woman of devout Catholic faith and proud Croatian heritage.  Margie enjoyed volunteer work for many organizations, especially Childrens Hospital, Ladies of Charity, the Central Catholic High School Mothers Guild, and was selected as a volunteer Christmas decorator at the White House in 2011.  She was well known for her incredibly caring, kind, and giving spirit.  Margie was the daughter of the late Mate' and Anna (Stimac) Gasparovic.  The youngest and last of seven in a close-knit immigrant family, she was preceded in death by her siblings John, Ann, Mary, Matthew (Mary), Thomas, and Steve "Snaps" Gasparovic.

Sally Ann (Popp) Williams, age 84 of Liberty Borough, went to be with her Lord on Friday, December 30, 2022 at Kane Community Living Center, McKeesport.  Born April 27, 1938 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Ida (Tolner) Popp. She was a member of Liberty Borough Veterans Association and an avid animal lover. She contributed to many non-profit organizations that were near and dear to her heart and her kindness will be missed. Sally will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Charles R. (Chick) Williams, her longtime companion Jerry Olack, son Terry Williams, brother Patrick "Sonny" Popp, and sister Gloria Knapp.  Sally is survived by her daughter Laurie Lynn Williams-Wood of Yorktown; grandchildren Brianna Morris of West Point, VA, Brandon Wood of Yorktown, VA, and Lacey Cowley of Virginia Beach, VA; five great-granddaughters; step-daughters Shelley Supinsky of White Oak and Cindy Olack of Liberty Boro; sister Candy (William) Boyle of O'Fallon, MO; 5 nieces and 2 nephews; and also multiple great nieces and nephews.

Florence L. Ramsey, age 96 of Clairton, passed away at home on Thursday, January 5, 2023.  Born September 17, 1926 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Reynolds) Coughenour.  Florence was preceded in death by her husband Joseph E. Ramsey, Jr., who passed away July 1, 2018, her daughter Diana Sickley, her son Curtis (Melanie) Ramsey, and her brothers Charles and Thomas Coughenour.  She is survived by her daughter Mary Ann Martin of Clairton; her sons David (Kim) Ramsey of Jefferson Hills and Craig (Connie) Ramsey of Elizabeth; her grandchildren Richard (Tracy) Lindsey, Christina Martin, Jason (Kathy) Ramsey, Joshua (Chalee) Ramsey, Jared (Sinthana) Ramsey, Erin (Sam) Nunnery, Jessica (Nick) Chiavetta, and Todd Ramsey; her numerous great-grandchildren; her great-great-grandchildren; and also nieces and nephews.  Florence was also a member of Pine Run United Methodist Church, the Wilson Civic Association, and the Wilson AARP.

Marie J. (Squires) Ference, age 93, of Jefferson Hills, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023  at Jefferson Hospital. She was a member of St. John XXIII Parish, St. Isaac Jogues Church in Elrama and was a former postal clerk with the U.S. Postal Service in Floreffe and Clairton. Born May 13, 1929 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Vincent and Stella (Budka) Squires and wife of the late Edward J. Ference. She is survived by daughter, Diane Ference of Jefferson Hills; sons, Daniel (Margie) Ference of Glassport, Robert (Amy) Ference of Rostraver Twp. and Thomas (Lori) Ference of Finleyville; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Raymond Squires of North Versailles, Thomas Squires of San Jose, CA and Vincent Squires of Lakeland, FL; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Irene Meyer, Phyllis Shuster and Betty Pater, and brother, Ralph Squires. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Dolly Prokop, age 74 of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022 in Jefferson Hills Manor.  Born September 20, 1948 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Robert V. and Lube (Sellan) Medvidovich.  A member of Sts. Joachim and Anne Parish - St. Michael's Site, Dolly was an esthetician by trade and was the founder and owner of the Allegheny Beauty Academy and proprietor of both the former Fashion Curl Salon in Clairton and the Skin Electrology and Acne Care Center in White Oak and Versailles.  In her spare time, she was very artisically inclined with her crafting and quilting; loved movies, travel, and trips to the casino; but was most importantly an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.  Dolly is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years Thomas Prokop; her sons Thomas (Melissa) Prokop of Laytonsville, MD and Daniel (Natalie) Prokop of Allison Park; her grandchildren Madeline, Matthew, Meredith, Joseph, Nadia, and Petra; her sisters Sally (the late Jerry) Muro Lucarelli of Elizabeth Twp., Patricia Medvidovich of Jefferson Hills, and Mary Anne (the late Edward) Ekin of Renfrew; her nephew William G. Randy Jay Biem

Randy Jay Biem, age 66, of Forward Twp., passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023 at home. A Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, he retired after more than 12 years of service as a wheelchair van driver for Jefferson Hills Ambulance in Jefferson Hills. He loved starting seeds in the house, moving them into a little greenhouse outside, then planting and caring for all his vegetables and flowers for hanging baskets. Neighbors and friends would tell him how beautiful his garden and hanging baskets were and could see how much love went into them. He also enjoyed watching his two hummingbird feeders and loved helping family, friends and neighbors. Born June 27, 1956 in Wolf Point, MT, he was a son of the late Raymond Curtis and Mary Louise (Isle) Biem. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dolores "Dee" Jean (Fine) Biem; daughter, Tonya Jean (Doug) Fohr of Baldwin; son, Randy Ray Biem of West Mifflin; granddaughter, Kirsten Pearl Fohr; brothers, Ronald (Trixie) Biem of Montana, Robert "Bob" Biem of Arizona, Ernest (Terri) Biem of Montana and Raymond "Rayme" Biem of Montana; also, nieces and nephews. Patricia M. Kumf, age 67 of Lincoln Place, passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, December 31, 2022.  Born June 19, 1955 in Monogahela, she was a daughter of the late William and Olga (Radosh) Nogach.  A customer service representative for Pittsburgh Mercy Behavioral Health, her co-workers always said she was an amazing "work mom," but her family says that she was an even better "real mom."  Patricia was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church of Millvale, CFU Lodge #146, and was very active as a Brownie Troop leader in Lincoln Place over the years.  In her spare time, she loved to craft and loved dogs...especially Schnauzers...and especially her Schnauzer Khloe.  Patricia is survived by her husband of 43 years Richard Kumf; her children Melissa Kumf of Lincoln Place, Amanda Kumf of Munhall, and Gregory Kumf of Lincoln Place; and her sister Norma (the late Rudy) Golling of West Mifflin.

Mary Ann (Hruska) Emert, age 90, of Finleyville, formerly of Elrama, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022 at home. A graduate of California University, she retired as office manager for Conversion Systems in Elrama. She was a member of St. Isaac Jogues Church in Elrama and was a long-time church organist. Born November 6, 1932 in Donora, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Kammer) Hruska and wife of the late Charles J. Emert. She is survived by sons, Harry P. (Roseanne) Warchola of Marietta, GA and Michael (Suzan) Warchola of Jefferson Hills; grandchildren, Jonathan Capicotto, Christopher (Maria) Capicotto, Lukas (Holly) Warchola, Logan Warchola and Matthew Law; great-grandchildren, Chance, Nia and Caleb Capicotto; also, nieces and nephews. Louis W. Gephart

Louis William Gephart, dedicated husband, loving father and grandfather, brother, friend and resident of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022 surrounded by his beloved wife and daughters at Arden Courts of Jefferson Hills. Louis W. Gephart was born to Louis T. and Anna (Grimes) Gephart in Elizabeth on December 2, 1938. He graduated from Elizabeth Forward High School in 1958 and was a veteran of the 101st Airborne Division Fort Campbell, Kentucky Battery C- 321st Artillery. Lou married Saundra Lee Homer on November 10, 1962 and they spent 60 beautiful years together. Through those years they had three daughters who cherished their loving father. He was a member of the Elizabeth Township Sportsmen Association and American Legion Post 0553. He worked at Elizabeth Motors, Edgar Motors, Fisher Body, and Volkswagen while living in Pennsylvania. Lou and Sandy moved to St. Louis, MO, in 1991 where Louis began working for BASF as a paint supervisor, still making frequent trips back to Pennsylvania to be with family. He made the best of friends and memories wherever he went. Lou’s true joys were tinkering in the garage, fishing, hunting, camping, playing golf, fixing cars, playing cards, horseshoes, dancing, and above all, spending time with his family. He loved having family sing-alongs in the garage or basement. You would probably see him chopping wood, having a shot and a beer, or watching a good cowboy movie. He will always be remembered for his fun-loving spirit, his love of country music, and his maintained garden. You may recall seeing him on his golf cart with his tools strapped on delivering zucchini from his garden to the neighbors, cutting his grass on his John Deere, or plowing everyone’s driveway in the winter. Louis is survived by his wife, Sandy; their three daughters, Kimberly, Lorraine (Bill) Payne and Denise (James) Kahler; grandchildren, Ashton, Jacob and Ava; sisters, Minnie, Patsy, Marion, Hazel, Twylia, and Donna; and countless nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, John, Jim and Cliff Gephart; sisters, Evelyn Opfar and Anna Lou Brown; and grandson, Alec James. He will always be remembered by his creative “way of doing things” or gadgets around the house. Thank you to the wonderful team at Commonwealth Hospice and his caretakers at Arden Courts who cared for him in his last days. He truly had a life lived to the fullest. He will never be replaced and the world is a little emptier without him. If you knew him, you loved him. All we can hope for is to fill our dash (1938 - 2022) with memories and making sure the people we love know us and love us. He lived an amazing dash. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Zombek; her daughter Tammy (Glenn) Bales of McKeesport; her grandchildren Allison and John Brown of Elizabeth, Christopher Leonard and Joshua Buchina of McKeesport, and C.J. Anne Trent, age 95 and formerly of Versailles, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 in Paramount Senior Living, Peters Township.  Born October 23, 1927 in Versailles, she was a daughter of the late Milovan and Susan (Stafinsky) Tumara.  A member of St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in McKeesport, Anne worked as an office manager for O'Donnell and Associates Engineering in Pleasant Hills and was a member of the AARP.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Trent, her son Robert E. Trent, her sisters Mary Mihoces and Catherine Flamish, and her brother Paul Tumara.  Anne is survived by her daughter Karen Sue (Kenneth) Johnson of Marietta, GA; her daughter-in-law Helen Trent of Peters Twp.; her grandchildren Robert E. Trent, Jr., Erin Rattenni, Ryan P. Trent, and James D. Fox; her seven great-grandchildren; and also nieces and nephews.

Clarence W. Fine, age 92, of Forward Twp., passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022 at Victoria House Personal Care Home. An Army veteran, he was a coal miner by trade and was extremely proud of his business. He retired as a steelworker for Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel in Monessen and was a former Masonic Lodge member. Born February 12, 1930 in Forward Twp., he was a son of the late John Henry and Anna Mary (Cochenour) Fine. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Velma (Lenhart) Fine; daughter, Crystal (Dan) Loera of Oregan; sons, Richard (Darlene) Fine of Elizabeth Twp., Edward Fine of New Eagle and Mickey Fine of Carroll Twp.; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Sarah Campbell of Texas; also, nieces and nephews.

Gregory Hamadock, age 76, of Chantilly, VA, and formerly of Elizabeth, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital in Fairfax, VA. A graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School and the University of Maryland College Park, Greg had a long and successful career in civil engineering. Greg was a lifelong Steelers fan, as well as a proud follower of the University of Maryland Terapins and the Washington Capitals. Born September 4, 1946 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Reynold E. and Elizabeth (Bohlander) Hamadock. Greg is survived by his wife, Pascale and son Ian, both of Chantilly, VA; daughter, Elizabeth Hamadock of New York City; sister, Cede (Anton) Cavalier of Elizabeth; and niece, Gel Cavalier and nephew, Adam (Jennifer) Cavalier, all of Elizabeth Twp. At the request of the family, services and burial are private at Jefferson Memorial Park. Baldridge, age 72 of North Huntingdon, passed away at home on Saturday, December 24, 2022.  Born November 13, 1950 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Elmer and Rhoda Baldridge and husband of the late Kristine (Odorcich) Baldridge, who passed away May 7, 2019.  Robert work as a facilities manager at UPMC Children's Hospital.  He is survived by his children Erin (Charles, III) Thatcher of Boonsboro, MD and Bradley (Jamie) Baldridge of Bridgeville; his grandsons Hayden and Bennett Thatcher; his sisters Darlene (the late Vince) Decker of North Huntingdon and Kay (Thomas) Sherwin of Finleyville; and also his nieces and nephews.
