Shirley (Obusek) Mandella, age 80 of McKeesport, died August 21, 2017 at ManorCare Health Services - Monroeville.  Born September 17, 1936 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late John F. and Elizabeth (Meharra) Obusek, and the wife of the late Walter J. Mandella.

 Shirley was a driver for ACCESS for many years and won multiple awards of continued excellence by the Mon-Yough Chapter of ODH (Open Doors for Handicapped) and she was a volunteer at Kane Regional Medical Center in McKeesport for over 20 years.  She was well known for being a vocal leader and coach of the McKeesport Girls Softball League, and was famous for her “level, level, level” while the girls were at bat.  She was very crafty and loved making things from plastic canvas, designing macrame chairs, enjoyed spending time in the mountains, playing cards and going to bingo.  She is survived by son, Dan (Erica) Mandella; daughter, Terri (Scott) Pollock; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Stephanie, Emily, Stephen, Matthew and Sarah Mandella, Hunter and Samantha Pollock and also survived by nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by son, Larry (Wendy) Mandella; sister, Virginia Davis; brothers, John G. and Ernest Obusek, and infant brother, Lawrence Obusek.  Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 2-4 and 6 until the time of service at 8 p.m. Deacon Dale DiSanto will officiate.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s and Dementia Research, 1100 Liberty Ave Suite E 201, Pittsburgh, PA 15222  Condolences may be shared at www.jaycox-jaworskifh.com
