Genevieve Rose (Hoak) Kessling, age 98 of McKeesport, died April 25, 2017 at Riverside Care Center.

Born April 15, 1919 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Ezra Hoak and Rose (Dickens) Hoak, step-daughter of the late James Garfield Hoak, and loving wife of the late Walter Kessling. In her earlier years, Genevieve worked for Crown Chocolate Company in McKeesport, as well as Larson’s Drug Store and Murphy’s Warehouse in Christy Park. She was a long time member of the Praise Assembly of God Church in North Versailles and also enjoyed her time as an AARP member and volunteer at Riverside Care Center. She is survived by her niece, Dee Anne Bailey of Lanesville, Indiana; Janice (William) Pack of McKeesport whom she loved as a daughter; and many loving nieces and nephews from New Albany, IN and Port Matilda, PA. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, James Richard and Jess Rosewell Hoak. Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Praise Assembly of God Church. Pastor Tim Bunney will officiate. Burial will follow at Mount Vernon Cemetery. Condolences may be shared at www.willigfuneralcremtionservices.com
