Audrey Jane Sturkie, age 83 of North Huntingdon passed away February 24, 2024 at her home. She was born on March 12, 1940 in Duquesne, a daughter of the late Aldo and Elizabeth Stanko Tagliavini. Audrey was a member of Calvin Presbyterian Church in North Huntingdon and was the owner of Sturkie Masonry along with her husband. She cherished nothing more than the time she spent with her family. In addition to her parents, Audrey was preceded in death by her husband Anthony Sturkie, and daughters Sherrie Gibson, Laura Demeis, Donna Sturkie, and Toni Sturkie. She is survived by her daughter Sandy (Dr. Michael) Hahalyak; grandchildren Anthony Kasunic (Cassondra), Jessica Nissen (Shane) and Halie Wilson Tucci (Brandon); great grandchildren Carlo and Dominic Kasunic; nieces and nephews Richard & Lisa Tucci and Mark & Diane Patrick. Joyce Ann  Rager, age 89 of Irwin, passed away on February 22, 2024 at the St. Anne Home in Greensburg. She was born on April 15, 1934, in Herminie, a daughter of the late John and Lois Tinsman Leisure. Joyce cherished her role as a homemaker, and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed working on puzzles, crafting, ceramics, needlepoint, word searches and was an avid reader. In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her sister Judith Mori and a daughter, Debbie Montini.. She is survived by her son, Dr. David Ross, daughter-in-law Sue Ross, grandchildren Jaime Knauff, Kelsey Ross, Jacey Ross, and great-grandchildren Julianna, Lilliana, and Alexander. David L. Morton, age 70 of North Huntingdon, passed away on February 22, 2024 at his home while surrounded by his wife and children. He was born on May 5, 1953 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Donald and Margery Malone Morton. Prior to his retirement, David was employed as an Electrical Engineer for First Energy, formerly West Penn Power. He was a graduate of both Norwin High School, Class of 1971, and the University of Pittsburgh, Class of 1975 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. David attended St. Agnes Church with his family, and was an active member within the Boy Scouts . He enjoyed traveling, especially to Notre Dame and Virginia Tech, working on cars, and assembling his annual Lionel Christmas train display.  David is survived by his beloved wife Cindy Lenhart, son Daniel (Traci) Morton, daughters Dr. Laura Morton Newhouser (Dr. Shane), and Jennifer O'Mahony (Pat), brother Robert Morton (Cindy), sisters Nancy Goblesky (Donald Jr.) and Donna Dolekary (James), grandchildren Luke, Cecelia, Matthias, Audrey, and Lydia, and numerous extended family members. Thomas P. Dunmire, age 79 of North Huntingdon died February 21, 2024, at Transitions, North Huntingdon. He was born November 16, 1944, a son of the late Harry W. and Jean Barrett Dunmire. He was a graduate of Westinghouse Memorial High School. Serving as both secretary and treasurer of the Larimer VFD Social Club, Tom enjoyed spending time with his friends and socializing. Prior to his retirement, Tom was employed by WABTEC in the shipping department. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Taber. Valerie S. Miller, 63 of North Huntingdon died February 19, 2024 at her home. She was born January 28, 1961 in Jeannette, a daughter of the late William C. and Jennie Mae Ressler. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Irwin. She graduated from Norwin High School Class of 1980. She enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, puzzles, playing solitaire, listening to music, and spending time with her granddog Memphis. Val was employed by Accessibilities as a caregiver for her brother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew Jeremy Radziwon. Kenneth McCusker, age 67 of North Huntingdon, passed away on February 18th, 2024 at his home.  He was born on September 24, 1956 in McKeesport, a son of the late Joseph E. McCusker and Dolores Kaminski McCusker. Ken was a graduate of McKeesport High School, Class of 1974, and was a Social Member of the American Legion Post 701 in White Oak. Prior to his retirement, Ken was an electrician at US Steel Clairton Works. He enjoyed fishing, loved a good laugh, and was always the life of the party. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Ken is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years Laura Whitehead McCusker, daughters Brianne McCusker, Kyra Kelly (Dan), brothers Robert McCusker (Mary), Wayne McCusker (Teresa), sisters Georgene Bingman (Robert), Carol McCusker, Donna Diak (Jeff), and his beloved grandchildren Royce Jackson, Piper Kelly, and Danny Kelly. W. Gene Perkins, age 84 of Irwin, passed away on February 12, 2024 at Montefiore Hospital. He was born on April 24, 1939 in Crichton, WV, a son of the late John Samuel and Olive Margaret Rader Perkins. Gene was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Irwin. Prior to his retirement, he was a Data Officer at Mellon Bank. He was a volunteer at the Wesley Chapel Food Bank in Florida, a past president of the former Alcoma Golf Club, and past president of the Men's Club at the Saddlebrook Golf and Tennis Resort in Wesley Chapel, Florida. Gene was an avid golfer and dedicated Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. He was a graduate of Fairmont State University in West Virginia where he played football and ran track. In addition, Gene was the first ever president of the TKE Fraternity. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his brother Edwin Harold and his wife Nancy, sister Evelyn Rae Odell and husband Rodney, and nephew Matthew Wayne Perkins. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years Barbara Ferrari Perkins, sons Joe (Linda) and Chris (Kristin) Perkins, brother Robert Lee (Reba) Perkins, Jack Wayne (Claren) Perkins, and grandchildren Michael (Ashleigh), Nathan, Matthew, Courtney, and Jake Perkins, great-granddaughter Ellie, and 13 nieces and nephews. Robert A. Zaval, 102 of North Huntingdon died February 8, 2024 at his home. He was born October 10, 1921 in Philipsburg. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a foreman for Fort Pitt Steel Casting Company in McKeesport. He enjoyed crocheting, splitting wood, and daily trips to Walmart.  Bob was a WWII veteran having served in the U.S. Army's 8th Armored Division in Rhineland and Central Europe.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Dorothy Zaval and son Daryl Zaval. He is survived by his wife Helene Wilson Zaval, daughters Barbara Casorio (Jim Sr.) and Melanie O’Connell (James), and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Johanna Hreha , 87 of North Huntingdon died Feburary 1, 2024 at the Seton Center in Greensburg. She was born September 24, 1936 in North Braddock, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Tej Pavur. Johanna was a member of St. Agnes Church. She enjoyed reading, baking, cooking and crafting. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as an Executive Secretary by Robert Morris College. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert J. Hreha in 2008, two brothers Joseph and Carl Pavur, one sister, Margaret O'Brien. Timothy Edward Quinlan, age 78 of North Huntingdon, PA, died January 31, 2024 at UPMC East surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 29, 1946 to the late Albert H. and Millicent M. (Sieburg) Quinlan of Pine Township. He graduated from Richland High School class of 1963 and earned his bachelor's degree from Indiana University of PA before completing graduate work through the US Steel/Case Western Reserve University Business Program. A United States Army veteran, Captain Quinlan served with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam earning the Bronze Star. Prior to retirement in 2004, he was employed as a Production and Continuous Improvement Supervisor, Safety Engineer, and Accounting Manager for US Steel throughout the Mon Valley for over 30 years where he volunteered as a mentor with Junior Achievement. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Daria Riesberg. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dr. Audrey (Manzlak) Quinlan; a daughter Tara (Bill) Willenbrock of VA; a son, Daniel (Deanna) Quinlan of Cranberry; three grandsons, Matthew and Ryan Quinlan and Owen Willenbrock; a brother, Michael (Lynn) Quinlan of SC, and two nephews, Nathan M. and Timothy R. Quinlan. An avid sports fan, he was a proud season-ticket holder of the Steelers and was honored in 2021 to be invited to participate in the on-field pregame Terrible Towel activities. He also enjoyed surf fishing in Rodanthe and Nags Head on the Outer Banks of NC. As requested, there will be no visitation. Dennis C. Shaffer, 73 of North Huntingdon peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 31, 2024 at UPMC Montefiore Hospital. He was born October 27, 1950 in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Robert and Ruth Smith Shaffer. He was a member of Calvary Assembly Church. He was a graduate of Penn State University with a degree in engineering. He enjoyed NASCAR, was an avid Pittsburgh and Penn State sports fan, WWII aviation buff, interested in working on model airplanes, enjoyed traveling with Betty, and spending time with his family and friends. Prior to his retirement, was employed as a machinist for Jennison Corporation in Carnegie. He was preceded in death by his father and first wife Elaine. Suzanne McClure, age 77 of North Huntingdon died January 31, 2024 at Brookdale Murrysville. She was born September 15, 1946 in Irwin, a daughter of the late Edward and Ethel Bilak Zurich. Suzanne was a member of St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church in Monroeville. She enjoyed maintaining friendships, traveling and was a role model to many. Suzanne lit up a room when she entered. She was a fashion icon who enjoyed organizing, decorating and volunteering in Irwin. She was the loving Aunt to Greg Zurich and his wife Maria and their son Gino Zurich. She is survived by one brother, Edward Zurich, the Kovac cousins, Zoe, Jeff, Lori and Lynn, the Bilak cousins Mark , Shawn, Terri and numerous other cousins, longtime friends, Bonnie, Pat, Jane, Ken, the Dupree's and the DeLallo's.
